I must have fallen asleep, because the next thing I know, the bus is coming to a halt. Opening my eyes, I look out the window to see that we have stopped at a filling station. The other passengers are leaving the bus, making their way into the convenience store.

I must have been sleeping for quite some time because the sun is high in the sky already. Sliding out of my seat, I gasp as the pain in my side feels like a blade digging into my body. I need to go and clean it out. I can already feel the heat from my body, telling me that I’m starting to get a fever, probably because the gashes are getting infected.

“Where are we?” I ask as I find the bus driver standing outside smoking.

“We are in Kokstad.”

I gasp. “Oh, I must have been sleeping for longer than I thought.”

I start to turn away to make my way inside when he stops me.

“We will be leaving in fifteen minutes; make sure you are on the bus,” he warns.

“I will hurry.” I rush inside into the ladies’ washroom, only to find three other women in there. I would rather they not see my wounds, but there is nothing to be done about it. Moving towards the basin, I frown when I see the taps have a sensor for the water to only run for a short period of time. Grabbing paper towels from the dispenser on the wall, I wet them before lifting my hoodie and carefully start to clean around the wounds. I notice that they have stopped bleeding, but as I thought, they seem to be getting inflamed.

“Oh dear, what happened?” one of the women asks next to me.

“A wolf attacked me,” I say, turning slightly to obscure her line of vision.

“You should go get that checked. You might need stitches,” she states.

“I will as soon as I get to my destination.” Patting around the area once more, I sigh, knowing that it needs to be cleaned more thoroughly, but hopefully most of the dirt is gone. Throwing the paper towels away, I pull down my hoodie.

Making my way into a stall, I relieve myself; I don’t know how many more hours I will be on the road before I can finally get to Fang, and hopefully, he is there.

After finding bandages and buying a bottle of water and a ham sandwich, I make my way back to the bus with a couple of minutes to spare.

I know that I’m being crazy, going to find a man that probably doesn’t even remember me anymore, or that doesn’t want to see me because I will remind him of his past, but ever since I can remember, I have known that I am Fang’s. Now I just need to see if he knows that, too.
