In no time at all, the car is on the truck and we’re making our way towards wherever Blue lives. After everything that we have been through today, I just want to get there, clean his wound out, and sleep. The day was going so well, but with everything that happened, I’m exhausted and would be happy just to go to bed with Blue and take a much needed nap.

When we turn into the Wolverine MC parking lot, and I see the trees surrounding the club, I understand why the men love their home so much. It’s very pretty and peaceful here, something that is hard to associate with bikers, but not hard when you know that they are shifters.

Blue raises his head when we arrive, looks around, and then back at me before lowering his head again. I guess he’s getting better after all. The forty minute drive has helped restore a bit of his energy. Goliath carries Blue inside. I follow the two of them into a spacious room with wide windows that let in the afternoon sun. “Is this Blue’s room?” The room is beautiful with simple décor, something that I really like, but I assumed because Blue was used to staying in five-star hotels that he would have a lavish room.

“No, this is now Blue and your room.” Goliath’s pointed statement has me smiling in pleasure at how well the men have accepted me, or at least the ones that I have met.

After placing Blue on the bed, Goliath turns towards me, a grin on his handsome face. “If I was you, I would get a nice hot shower and change your clothes from this one’s blood before dinner.”

“Oh, I won’t be coming to dinner. I will sit here with Blue; he might need me.”

He shakes his head, grinning. “You don’t need to worry. Your man will be up for dinner.” He inclines his head towards Blue. “That was just a scratch, and even though it will still be tender, he will be fine in a couple of hours.” I’m not as confident as Goliath is about Blue’s speedy recovery, but I will give him the benefit of a doubt. After all, he knows the wolf healing process better than me. Just then, there is a knock on the door, and a beautiful woman walks in.

“I’ve missed you,” she says as she walks in looking at Goliath.

“Of course, you have, your man must have been driving you up the wall,” he quips with a wink which has her smiling and turning to look at me. “Alaska, this is Siena. Siena is Blue’s mate.” This woman before me is beautiful in every way. Her auburn hair is tied up in a loose bun on top of her head, her blue eyes friendly as they catch my gaze.

“Hi, Siena, I’ve been looking forward to meeting you ever since Dash told me that you were coming.”

I smile at her excitement. “Nice to meet you.” Unfortunately, I can’t say the same thing because Blue and I haven’t had enough time to talk about everyone in his club or who they are. She inclines her head towards Blue, a frown appearing as she nears the bed.

“Is he okay? Dash said it was just a scratch when he phoned.”

“He’s fine, Siena took the bullet out.”

Goliath’s statement has Alaska gasping. “He was shot?”

“Yeah, the fucker was shooting at Siena.”

Alaska walks towards me. Taking my hand, she squeezes it in comfort. “Oh, I’m so sorry. That must have been terrible for you.”

“While the two of you get to know each other, I have to go see about Blue’s initiation tomorrow,” Goliath says as he makes his way out of the room.

“What initiation is he talking about?”

Alaska smiles as she strokes my hand. “Blue found his mate, so they have a little initiation party.” Suddenly she throws her arms around my shoulders which surprises me, but I find it quite comforting.

After a minute, she steps back. “Are you okay?”

“I’m not sure. It happened so fast. I think I’m still waiting for it to hit me.” I shake my head at the memory. “I have never been shot at before.”

“Was it the Hades MC?”

“Yes, I hear the Wolverines are at war with them.”

Alaska looks towards Blue and then back at me and nods.

“They are really bad. They’re into all sorts of things, but that isn’t the worst of it. Has Blue told you about the serial killer in the area?”

“What?”A serial killer?

“I guess not, but don’t worry, there haven’t been any killings for quite a while. I personally think the guy has gone somewhere else.”

“Are there any suspects?”

How scary is it to think that there is a serial killer on the loose?

“They have looked at a lot of people, but I don’t think they have any idea. I saw one of his victims and I can tell you that I still have nightmares.” A shiver races over her body, which tells me that she was genuinely traumatized by what she saw.
