“You thought I did that?” I nod, he takes a step closer to me, his hand raising my jaw as he holds it with his thumb and forefinger. “I would never tell a woman to get rid of my child, even though it’s impossible for us, unless the woman is our mate.”

A tingling sensation travels through my body when I think of having Blue’s child—a child that is just like his father. He lowers his head, taking my lips in a gentle kiss as his arms slide around my body and he pulls me closer. We stand like that for a few minutes before I feel his arms tense around me suddenly, and he takes a step back, his features a mask of fury.

“You said that Jim only found out who you were when he saw Lee Ann.”

I nod.

“The motherfucker that did that to your sister was him.” This isn’t a question but a fact, a statement that clearly infuriates him. His hands come from around my waist to my upper arms as he holds me. The action has me flinching when the tenderness in my arm from where Jim grabbed me intensifies. He notices me flinching, so he lets go of my arms and then pulls up my short sleeves.

“Son of a bitch,” he suddenly roars when he sees the bruising, the clear fingerprints on my flesh where Jim manhandled me. I’m about to appease him when he snaps around and starts to make his way out of the room.

“Blue!” He doesn’t stop, which has me hurrying after him. When I finally catch up, he’s just walking into the sitting room. I see Fang standing by the window facing us and Goliath sitting on the couch with his legs stretched out before him and his arms crossed across his chest. His gaze moves up to us as he sits back.

“Wait for me, I’m going to go find that motherfucker. That son of a bitch thinks he can touch my woman…”

My heart is racing with worry over how angry he looks and what might happen if he leaves in this state.

“I’m coming,” Fang states.

“No, you can’t go out like this, you’re angry,” I plead as I place my hand on his arm, feeling the muscles under my hand vibrating with tension. He turns to face me, his features rigid, a vein pulsing near his eyebrow. His eyes lower again to my arm, I know that most of the bruising is covered but there is still some bruising just below the seam of my sleeve.

“I’m not angry, I’m fucking furious.” The growly tone in his voice is proof of his rage. “No one touches you, no one.” His words are a promise and leave no doubt in my mind that he’s telling the truth.

He steps around me, making his way out of the house.

My hand rises to my chest as my heart feels like it will burst through my ribcage over the fear of what he will do when he finds Jim.

I hear their bikes fire up and then ride away. “Don’t worry, Blue will be fine,” Goliath says from where he’s standing next to me.

“Blue?” I look up at him in surprise. “I’m not worried about Blue. I know he will be fine. I’m worried about his agent when he finds him.”

“He shouldn’t have messed with you, don’t worry about an asshole like him.”

“What if he hurts him?”

Goliath raises his brow. “He hurt you. What do you think Blue is going to do, hug him?”

“But he will get into trouble if he hurts him.” I turn to face Goliath. “What if he files charges against Blue and he goes to jail?”

Goliath shakes his head as he walks towards the window to look out at the quiet street. “Don’t worry, Siena. Your man is not going to get into trouble.” He glances back at me, “Your man is going to right a wrong.”

That is what I’m worried about. What kind of revenge is he going to get from Jim? “What is going on?” I jump in surprise at Lee Ann’s sleepy voice from the doorway.

“Oh, you surprised me.”

“Sorry, I heard a noise.” She looks past me to Goliath, “Haven’t you slept yet?”

Glancing behind me, I see Goliath shake his head.

“You must be so tired; I’ll go get you a pillow and a blanket.” Then she frowns as she looks at the couch. “Umm, I don’t know if you will fit on the couch.”

Goliath grins at her and shakes his head. “I’m not going to sleep, don’t worry.”

“Why don’t you go back to sleep, sweetheart? I will make Goliath and me some coffee because I’m not tired either.”

Lee Ann looks at me and then at Goliath, a frown appearing on her face. “What’s going on?” I don’t want to upset her; she has had more than her share without me adding to it.

“I’m just going to sit here and wait for Blue. I’m not tired.” I know for certain that I won’t fall asleep now, and if I go to bed, all I will do is toss and turn so I might as well just keep Goliath company.
