Chapter 29
Madeline
Last night had been incredible.Nathaniel and Joseph had been so patient with me. I’d used my clinical skills and every breathing technique and positive thinking task I’d ever assigned to any of my patients. It had helped me tremendously to get over my fear of the knife. Also, not having to see it against my skin had been a relief. I didn’t have to think about it then. I only concentrated on my Doms’ voices, their soothing tone keeping me calm and in control.
Once I’d recovered from subspace, they’d taken their time and actually made love to me. I could feel the love in every kiss and every touch. Their whispered words of love settled deep inside my heart. Never before had I felt such peace and happiness. This was what I’d been missing my whole life. These two men. I shifted and stretched. The shallow scratches on my inner thighs and breasts burned hotly. I still shuddered at the sensation of the razor-sharp blade running across my skin. Never in a million years did I think the feel of steel would be such a combination of turn on and terrifying. The thought of the icy coldness of the blade had my blood powering through my veins again, my heart racing in fear and excitement even though the knife had long been put away and I was lying in bed alone. The high was unlike anything else. Knowing that with the wrong move the sharp edge could slice my skin at a moment’s notice gave me a rush like an addict after their latest fix.
I rose from the bed and headed to the bathroom. While I washed my breasts and thighs, I paused, my fingers moving over the marks on my body, but not lingering. I quickly dried myself off but stood for a moment staring at my reflection. My gaze traveled up and down my body stopping to admire the same marks I’d ignored a few minutes ago. Marks left by Nathaniel and his knife. They were beautiful in their raw and primal state. Each one burned into my skin like a permanent brand he’d left behind. A brand that signified I belonged to him. My heart thumped a thousand times a minute at the thought.
Dressing quickly, I headed downstairs. I lingered at the edge of the doorway, watching, admiring Joseph and Nathaniel standing there, working together as a team making breakfast. Always together. Joseph caught sight of me first. There was so much love on his face at seeing me.
“Good morning, angel.” He greeted me with a kiss on the lips.
“Morning.”
“Pet.” Nathaniel brushed his lips across his favorite spot, my forehead. “Sit. Breakfast is almost ready.”
I took my usual place and drank some of my juice. Soon, we were all sitting together. The pancakes were perfect. “Mmm. These are so good. I can never get mine this fluffy. They’re always flat and rubbery. I could eat these every day.” I moaned again in appreciation of the deliciousness.
“Man, that is high praise. I can only hope they always live up to your high standards.”
I stuck my tongue out at him.
“Careful pet. I can find a much better use for that tongue if you aren’t careful.” There was a teasing twinkle in Nathaniel’s eye.
“How are you feeling this morning?”
I looked at Joseph. “Happy.”
“I’m so glad. We were also hoping to make you happier.”
My hand reached out to clutch his. “You’ve already made me the happiest woman ever. I know I haven’t said it yet, but I love you, Joseph.”
I grabbed Nathaniel’s hand and my eyes bored directly into his, staring deep into his soul. “And I love you, Nathaniel. More than I’ve ever loved anyone before. The two of you are the other parts of my heart. Before I met you, I was miserable. I thought there was something wrong with me. That I was unworthy of the love of a Dom. You both showed me how wrong I was. You showed me what I’d been missing in my life. You were what was missing.”
Joseph released my hand and rose from the table. My eyes followed his movements as he disappeared upstairs. I sent a worried look to Nathaniel who only squeezed my hand tighter and smiled at me. Footsteps sounded and I turned back to see him descending the stairs with a box in his hand. The man beside me moved, tugging my hand to turn me in my chair. I covered my mouth with my hand and held back the tears when I spotted Nathaniel on his knees. His best friend soon joined him.
“Madeline, from the moment I first spotted you at Black Light wearing that little white dress with those too-big glasses framing your face, I knew you were the one. My angel. Even this guy here, the stubborn ass who didn’t believe in fate, knew. There’s never been a more perfect woman, a perfect submissive, for us. You’re everything we’ve ever needed or wanted. We’ve been holding on to this since the day you were taken from us. Both of us, even then, were convinced that we were all meant to be together.”
Joseph opened the box. Inside lay the most beautiful collar. It was a rose gold choker chain. But what made it special was that the chain was threaded through three hearts, each one a different color. White, yellow, and rose signifying each of us. It was absolutely stunning and brought tears to my eyes.
“Madeline, pet, will you accept our collar?”
I nodded fiercely and dropped to my knees with them, throwing my arms around their necks and pulling them close to me. Their warm arms embraced me and the three of us sat there, intertwined, connected, the way we were meant to be.
