“Really?” I asked, raising my eyebrows. “What for?”

“I have to get Victoria. Some of the new girls aren’t behaving very well.”

We took the stairs side-by-side, and I hated to admit it, but our conversation was mildly pleasant. I had trouble keeping up with what we were saying and was slower on the stairs than I normally was because of the drinks, but it wasn’t horrible.

I turned left down the hall at the top of the stairs, and Grace was heading to the right. “It’s the second door there on your right,” she motioned towards the wall of doors down the hall. “It was nice talking to you. I don’t feel like we get to spend enough time together.”

“Totally, I feel the same,” I said, lying my ass off. It had been tolerable talking to her, and I wouldn’t want to spend another minute in her presence if I didn’t have to.

I strode to the bathroom door and turned the knob. As it was opening, I heard a girl giggling and the unmistakable sound of a voice I knew very, very well.

“This isn’t funny,” Alexander said, and Victoria giggled again. “I’m serious about this. She can never know.”

“Oh, she won’t,” Victoria said, and the door swung wider. I made eye contact with her and almost threw up.

Victoria was facing me, but she was straddling Alexander, who was sitting in a chair with his back to the door. It was one of those gorgeous leather ones, the kind the wealthiest men in society had custom-made for their offices. A power chair, more of a throne, really, but with a low back so I could see everything. The dark brown leather was almost black, and it had divots with gold nails pressed into it, making a pattern along the surface.

I don’t know why I fixated on the chair more than Victoria or the back of Alexander’s head. It was a way for my brain to anchor itself to the scene before it melted in pure rage and heartbreak.

I gasped and held my hand to my mouth. Victoria rode Alexander, her body undulating like an exotic dancer as she was in the throes of passion. She was feeling excitement over Alexander’s dick drilling deep inside her and the look of horror on my face.

And that’s when I realized why she’d demanded I attend. The reason why she’d threatened Harlow just to get me here tonight. She’d been planning on fucking Alexander all along, wanted me to see.

She was a fucking psycho. A nasty bitch cunt whore, and I hated her almost as much as I hated Alexander.

Alexander stopped fucking her as I whirled to leave the room. As I fled out the door, I heard Victoria’s mocking laughter mixed with his exclamation of confusion.

“Who the fuck was that?” he asked, and it might have been all the drinks I’d downed earlier, but for a moment, it didn’t even sound like him. Then again, nothing made sense most of the time in this world, so his voice echoing out of the room where I’d caught him with a whore wasn’t going to be perfect.

I forgot that I had to pee and ran down the stairs, tears streaking my cheeks as I breathed heavily and suppressed my sobs. I found Harlow in the kitchen talking to a small group of Upper kids that I sort of recognized, but I couldn’t hold back when I saw her.

“We have to go,” I exhaled and shuddered as my breath caught in my chest. “Let’s go!”

“What’s wrong?” she asked. “What’s going on?”

“We just have to go!”

I pushed past her, expecting to leave her behind if she didn’t get her ass into gear, and ran out the front door of Decker’s mansion. I hit the grass in my high heels and immediately got stuck. I began to hyperventilate because I was trying too hard to stop myself from screaming, and then I collapsed to the ground.

“Hey, what’s going on?”

Harlow’s voice was soothing and caring and melted through my mind like warm chocolate. Comforting and familiar.

“I saw Victoria,” I started to say, but my words choked in my throat.

“So what? Did she say something to you?” Harlow asked, bending down to speak to me. She took my hand and helped me to my feet. I stood on wobbly legs and wiggled my shoe heel, so it came loose.

“No,” I sniffled. “She was riding him. Grinding into him. And she set it up. She fucking set me up.”

“Who was she riding?” she asked, furrowing her brows together.

“Alexander!” I wailed and felt like I was going to crack and crumple. Fall to the ground and never get up again.

Harlow laughed and shook her head. “No way. Absolutely no way.”

“It was him,” I told her. “It was definitely him.”

“Did you get a good look at him? Did he see you?” she asked.
