Cal pulled his dick from her body with a snarl of frustration. "I just failed, didn't I?" he asked.
"Darling?" I asked her. "How would you score that?"
But Lurel had pushed herself from her chair, marching over to grab a cloth from the table, and dipping it in the basin beside it. Wringing out the excess, she made her way to where Nari still held me pinned in the chair.
"Talin?" she said, offering it to me. "I think she may want this."
And then she turned and walked right up to her ward. "Youasshole," she breathed before slapping him hard across the face. "Pretty brunette, you said. You made me look like a fool, and you got played for it. Ihopehe fails you."
"Lurel..." Cal begged.
She thrust a finger in front of his face. "Put your fucking pants on and keep what dignity you have left. Talin, Nariana, we'll leave you the room to get cleaned up."
Not caring that they were watching, I slid the cloth between her legs, removing the leftovers from my ex from her body. "I'm sorry about that, beautiful."
She looked down at my crotch and let out a relieved breath. "Oh, I think that was fun. Also proved that you've mastered your ring."
Lurel's head snapped over at the word. I had a feeling I knew why, but she didn't say a thing. Pressing the damp cloth into Nari's hand, I guided her over and stood, aiming for the dress she'd left on the floor. The one beside Cal's clothes that Lurel was picking up.
"You good?" I asked her as softly as I could.
She glanced over and bobbed her head once. "I'm pissed, but that'sall."
"It's ok. I think this is a lesson he'll remember."
"How?" she breathed.
I just smiled. "She isZeal's Chosen.It's not an empty title, and it comes with some surprising benefits."
And she glanced down, her eyes checking my dick the same way Nari had. "Was her story true?" She meant when Nari had said we met before her Choosing.
"Yes. It's also not all of it. Take him home, and make sure he knows not to try something that stupid again? If he does, I'll let her other guardian deal with it."
"Wraythe," Lurel realized. "I'll make that clear. We'll talk in class."
And I picked up Nari's dress and carried it back, helping her get it on. What I didn't do was give her back the panties in my pocket, because she wasn't done yet, and she didn't deserve to be left wanting.

Nariana
"You have good taste in men," I told Talin as we checked out of the room and turned back for our suite.
His hand found the small of my back. "Ihadshitty taste in men," he said. "I mean, Cal was nice to look at, and I used to think I liked that he was strong. Now I know it's more petulant."
"Yeah, but I didn't want totalkto him," I pointed out.
He laughed once, shaking his head at me, but the smile on his lips said he wasn't upset at all. In truth, he looked proud of me. I knew I'd taken a risk when I'd changed the rules of our session, but I couldn't pretend to enjoy sex with that man any other way. I figured that if he wanted to use me to get to Talin, then I'd show him what a bad idea that was.
And I would've been fine, if Talin hadn't touched me. I could still feel the phantom pressure of his hands teasing my nipples, turning me on so easily. Then there was the way he'd watched me. That was a sight I'd never forget. The look in his eyes had been sohungry.There was no other way to describe it.
I was lost in the memory when he turned me down another hall, proving we'd just left the sanctum and were now halfway home. Glancing over, I found his eyes scanning my face, looking for something. Then he stepped closer.
"You get anything from that at all?" he asked, his voice soft to stay between us.
"From you," I admitted.
And that desire was back, warming the icy color of his eyes. "You know the guys are wondering if you're ok."
