“Exactly. So if she calls in and needs help...”
“All of us will be all over it,” Officer Reid assured him. “Tell everyone at the meeting. I’ll make sure to spread the word to the officers conducting the search.”
“Thank you.”
Officer Reid turned serious. “She’s really important to you.”
“Yes.”
“Then I’ve got your back and I’ll shut my big mouth.”
“I appreciate both. And so will Cyn.”
“Forget all the rest. I like her. She’s... unique.”
He thought she was pretty damn special.
Officer Reid turned to go. “Let me know what you find out about the cars,” he called over his shoulder.
Hunt finally pulled all the information he needed onthe vehicles used in the burglaries, went to the daily briefing, told his boss what he was investigating and headed down to the garage to talk to Jerry.
He stopped outside the garage and surveyed the parking area. He spotted the white Corolla he suspected had been used in last night’s home burglary.
Before he went in, he texted Cyn.
HUNT:How are you feeling?
CYN:Lonely for you.??
He couldn’t help it and smiled.
HUNT:Miss you, too.
HUNT:Any side effects this morning?
CYN:Got a little dizzy when I stood up too fast but otherwise no.
CYN:Still tired.
CYN:But that could be because I was in heaven and not sleeping most of the night.
He grinned again.
HUNT:Happy to take you there again.
CYN:And again. And again. And again.?
HUNT:YES!!!
HUNT:Gotta go hunt down some evidence
HUNT:Be good. REST!
CYN:Be SAFE!
