“I can’t believe you pretended to give me a ticket.”

“It’s how we met.” He rolled on top of her, braced himself on his forearms and stared down at her. “And who said I was pretending? I’m going to write you that ticket,” he warned. “But maybe you can persuade me not to,” he suggested, kissing one cheek, then the other.

She slid her hands down his back to his ass and grabbed both cheeks and squeezed. “Well, Officer, I think I can sway you, though I’m not sure that all my tactics are legal in this state,” she teased.

Hunt’s eyes smoldered. “You’ll have to show me, just so I’ll know exactly what you mean.”

She put her hand on his shoulder and pushed him off her. He easily took her prompt and rolled onto his back. She flung all the covers off them and watched the firelight dance across his skin.

The bruising on his chest had healed. She leaned down and kissed the small scar left by the impact of the bullet into his vest. “You are a sight to behold, Hunt.” She straddled his lap and brushed her fingertips over his pecs and down his washboard abs to where she covered most of his hard length with her already wet folds. She touched the head of his penis at the same time she rocked her hips and glided along his length.

His big hands clamped onto her hips. “Cyn.” Just her name, spoken like a swear word and a prayer.

She smiled down at him. “You know, Wilde, being your wife isn’t going to tame me any.” She rocked against his length again and swirled her finger softly over the tip of his penis.

“God, I hope not.” He bucked his hips up into heras he held her down against him, creating a delicious friction that nudged at her clit, sending a swarm of sensations rippling through her.

“Let me in, Cyn.” Hunt groaned as she rubbed against him again.

“Oh, Hunt, you’re in my mind, my heart, my future. But right now, Wilde man, I want you in my mouth.” She slid back, wrapped her hand around the base of his dick and took him in her mouth, deep.

“Fuck, Cyn. The things you do to me.”

She did lots of wonderful things to him. Things to make him groan. Things to make him sigh. Things to make him drag her up his body and thrust into her and hold her there for a moment so they could both enjoy the feel of being a part of each other.

They took their time making love, showing each other and sharing how much love lived inside them.

By the time they came apart in each other’s arms and she collapsed on top of him, the fire had burned low and the night had gone quiet until Hunt’s deep, husky voice whispered into her ear. “I am yours.” She found it poignant and heartfelt that he didn’t claim her as his but pledged himself to her, and she easily gave him back the same oath. “I am yours.”

Chapter Forty-One

They chose the perfect day to get married, though any day would have been perfect to marry the one you love. Still, Hunt rose to a glorious pink and lavender sunrise this morning and his smiling bride-to-be kissing him awake. They bucked tradition and made love first thing, not caring one bit that he wasn’t supposed to see the bride before the wedding. He saw every bit of Cyn and made sure to touch and kiss and lick every lovely inch of her.

He popped the question six weeks ago. Planning the wedding had taken less time than it took Cyn to pick a dress. Luckily the one she fell in love with was available in her size. She had it shipped to Shelby’s place so he wouldn’t see it.

Their ceremony would be much like Chase and Shelby’s backyard wedding. A simple gathering of friends and family. Because of the cold December temps, they’d have a quick ceremony in the garden where he and his brothers had strung lights and set up benches for their guests. He’d built a trellis for them to stand under while they said their vows. The florist had decorated it with bouquets of purple and white flowers, along withgarlands and tiny white lights. After the wedding and celebration, he’d hang the bench swing his dad gave them as a wedding gift.

Inside the house, they’d moved furniture around to set up tables and chairs for the brunch after the ceremony. They had the caterer ready to go, the cake had been delivered and the florist had decorated the tables and hearth with dozens of floral bouquets and garlands, too. The whole house smelled like a garden.

The guests had arrived ten minutes ago and were seated on the benches lined up on both sides of a rose-petal-strewn path. The judge stood beside him as they waited for the ceremony to begin.

The music played. Max walked down the aisle with their cousin Lyric, who Cyn had gotten close to over the last several weeks while she worked on setting up her shop in Blackrock Falls.

Chase and Shelby, carrying Lana, walked down the aisle next. Shelby looked beautiful in a lavender dress that matched the color of the tiny gown they put on Lana. Chase wore a tux that matched Hunt’s and Max’s, down to the lavender bow tie and rose boutonnieres they wore.

Shelby stood across the aisle from him, while Chase took his place beside Hunt as his best man.

They all stood in their places with the judge at the center of them.

And then there she was at the end of the aisle, his beautiful Cyn in a white gown that nearly stopped his heart. Beautiful in its simplicity, the white satin hugged Cyn’s curves, then flared out to a fuller skirt. A purple satin belt cinched her waist. The deep V neckline showed off the swell of her breasts, and the long lacesleeves were a touch of added elegance. When she took her first step toward him, he saw a hint of a purple high heel and grinned.

She’d kept her hair down, falling in soft purple waves, and added a single lavender rose tucked into her ear, holding back her hair on one side.

Cyn’s mother stood beside her wearing a long-sleeved deep purple dress. She walked Cyn down the aisle. He couldn’t take his eyes off his beautiful bride, not even when Cyn’s mom put Cyn’s hand in his and said, “Love each other always.”

He’d love Cyn for eternity.

Cyn stood beside her handsome groom and smiled, letting him see how incredibly happy she was to be here with him today. “I love you.”
