“Merry Christmas, Mateo.” She handed me a narrow box, wrapped in a red velvet ribbon.

“I thought we were going to wait until tomorrow,” I said, secretly pleased I could share my gift with her tonight.

“It’s just one present. But I think you’ll like it.” Her lips curved into a smile.

I leaned over to kiss her beautiful mouth. “I love you, Angel. Now get ready, I’ve been dying to have you all day long and I’m ready to make Wynter come all night long.”

She broke the kiss with a laugh. “We’ll see how you feel about that after you open this.”

Sitting cross-legged beside her, I pulled the ribbon off the box. I lifted the lid and stared inside.

“You got me a thermometer?” I removed it and held it up, puzzled.

“It’s really what you got me, Mateo...” She pressed against my side. “I’m pregnant.”

I pulled her into my arms and kissed her deeply, my heart heavy with all the happiness I carried inside of me for the family I never thought I would have.

“Sweetheart, I’m so happy.” I grinned against her mouth as elation surged through me.

“Are you really, Mateo? The twins aren’t even one yet.”

“You’re the best gift ever. Now roll over and I’ll show you my appreciation.”

Angel was on her side, glancing back at me over her shoulder with a twinkle in her eye. “Wait, did you want me to open a gift tonight?”

“Not anymore. I need to exchange the size.”

Epilogue Two

Wynter, Five years later, Christmas

The kids had torn through the gifts, leaving mounds of wrapping paper and empty boxes under the Christmas tree and throughout the living room. Upstairs the four-year-old twins, three-year-old Christopher and eighteen-month-old Zoe were all finally asleep.

I sipped my sparkling water and loosened the tie of my silk bathrobe.

“As much I loved the penthouses, I love Christmas in our own house even more.” I patted the couch next to me when Mateo descended the stairs after getting all the kids squared away.

He knelt by the edge of the couch.

“You look warm, Angel.” He untied my robe, peeling it open. My breasts were full and my nipples were even more sensitive than usual. His hands roamed my body appreciatively. My belly was round with his growing baby, but Mateo’s desire for me never diminished. If anything he was even more ravenous for me when I was pregnant. He never let me doubt how he felt about me.

For my husband, I was the heart of our family. Every day he showed me how much he wanted me, needed me, loved me. Our home had become a haven full of love and laughter.

A few things were for sure—I wasn’t invisible anymore and my husband was no longer the grouchy workaholic. Thank goodness a couple of elves convinced Mateo to place that ad and make all my Christmas wishes come true!

Merry Christmas, babes!
