“HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN?” I yell at him,
“Little Princess, please,” he all but pleads with me, but that’s it, I’m done. I turn away from him, tears silently falling down my face. All these years, I never thought of Deacon as anything other than my protector, and not once did he tell me.
“How could... how could you keep this from me?” I ask as big fat tears run down my face. My father smirks from beside me, which only makes me angrier. “And you? You kept my brother a secret for twenty-three fucking years.”
“You had a relationship with him, didn’t you?”
“No. What I had was one of your men with me at all times. Yes, we grew close, but not as siblings. I was just a job to him. Something that he had to do because you told him to.”
“You’re wrong, Little Princess, you were never just a job to me,” Deacon says as he goes to take a step closer, but Kendric growls at him, warning him to stay away from me.
Gryffin continues to struggle against his restraints, and I fear that he’s going to pop his shoulder out.
“Oh, shut the fuck up,” my father says as a gunshot rings out across the warehouse.
Kendric rushes to Gryffin’s side, knocking Deacon aside as he does.

GRYFFIN
Pain radiates through my chest as the bullet hits me in the sternum. I see Ric rush to my side, knocking Deacon away in the process. “Don’t you dare die on me, do you hear me?” he demands as he begins to pull me from the hook. Darkness swirls around the edges of my vision.
Her tear-stained face is the last thing that I see as I blink my eyes closed. I hear a collection of roars and yells before the darkness pulls me under. Then there’s nothing. Just the black silence that death brings.
