He groaned and his eyes drooped as he continued to stroke himself to my words.

“Wife.” He repeated and a small smile crossed his face.

“Mmh.” I hummed in agreement. “I should go.” I took a step back but couldn’t help giving his cock one last longing look.

“Okay.” He agreed, smirking when he saw my hesitation.

I bit my lip and then forced my feet to step backwards again, and again until I was at the doorway to the bathroom. “I love you.” I sighed and then smiled. “I’ll see you at the altar.”

He smirked and nodded to me. “I’ll be there with bells on Cora Lynn.”

I turned and ran from the bathroom, grabbing my bag of things I needed for today, pulling on a new shirt and left the bedroom.

“Holy cow.” I groaned, fanning myself as I entered the living room. Marsha and her team were standing there with an amused look on their faces as Dexter, Reid and Nat smirked at me knowingly. I froze in the middle of the room as all eyes were on me embarrassingly.

“Nothing like a little hate sex on the morning of your wedding day to start the festivities off with a bang, huh?” Dexter quipped with a devilish grin on his face.

Apparently we’d been louder than I’d thought.

“Shut it, troublemaker.” I growled at him, and then turned to my future mother-in-law with what I hoped was an angelic look on my face. “Ready?”

“Oh darling, I’ve waited for this day my whole life.” She hummed with her honey voice and took my hand, pulling me out towards the large pool house in the back where we would be spending the day getting pampered and ready for my wedding.

My wedding.

GAH!

Chapter 21 – Maverick

The sun was setting over the horizon as I stood next to Reid and Dexter beneath an arbor of wood and flowers in our tuxes. We stood with our backs overlooking the ocean with the gentle breeze and occasional saltwater spray spritzing through the air.

Reid laid his hand on my shoulder as the violinist started playing the melodic tune that Cora chose to walk down the aisle to. My mother stood next to the aisle of white rose petals and smiled at me with tears in her eyes before turning to look at the antique double doors set up to act as a barrier for Cora to start her walk down to me at. Nat stood on the other side of the alter in a wine-colored dress and her edgy smile as she winked at me.

I took a deep breath and focused on the doors as they started to open, revealing the most breathtaking sight I’d ever seen before.

“Angel.” I whispered to myself, and Reid’s had patted my shoulder in agreeance before sliding off.

Cora was magnificent as she stepped through the doors with her hand laying on my father’s arm. He had offered to walk her down the aisle in place of her own father, and she had broken down in tears of joy at his offer. She had always been loved dearly by my parents and I loved that she had them today standing for her as much as for me.

Her honey blonde hair was swept back in an arrangement of curls and braids with simple white flowers adorning the diamond hair piece my mother had given her. The dress she wore not only looked made perfectly for her, which I knew it was, but it looked like something that no one else in the world would have been able to wear because it was perfect for my Cora.

It was pristine white satin that draped over her curves like a second skin. It had thin straps holding up the low-cut v neckline that settled between her breasts tastefully. The fabric hugged her flared hips and then opened into a thigh high slit adorned with lace before pooling out into a train.

She smiled up at me nervously as my father stopped in front of me, letting the officiant say his part. She took my hand, handing her bouquet to Nat and stood there with me, and everyone else faded away.

“God, you are exquisite.” I said, ignoring whatever the man overseeing the ceremony was saying.

Cora smiled shyly and blushed fourteen shades of red as everyone else laughed.

“Sorry, please continue.” I nodded to the man, who did just that.

He spoke his spiel and then it was time to say our vows. I was up first and surprised her when I didn’t take a piece of paper out to read off of, because everything that I needed to say had been brewing in my heart for nearly three decades.

“Angel.” I said as tears already began to pool in her eyes. Everyone else disappeared from around us as I stared into her beautiful blue eyes and saw my destiny. “We were barely old enough to tie our shoes the first time I laid eyes on you, and I had no idea what it meant to love someone romantically then, but I knew what it meant to feel purpose and meaning. And that is what I felt towards you from that very first moment on.” She wiped away a tear and took a shuddering breath. “I never thought twice about my feelings for you over the years, following along with what my heart and my body told me to do, from first asking you to be my girlfriend, then my wife while we were still in elementary school.” She chuckled as did my parents. “To asking you to prom and making plans with you for college and life beyond.

“I made terrible mistakes while trying to traverse the grief in my heart over losing Luke and I jeopardized everything because of it. But now ten years later, with you back in my life and back by my side I make this promise to you now. You will never wonder if you are loved from this moment on. You will never fear loneliness or uncertainty. You will have a steady hand to lead you through life, a strong back to burden the pain and worry of the world for you, and a home full of little feet to fulfill you and love you back in the purest way known to man.” Her shoulders shook as she cried listening to my promises to her. “But most of all, you will never endure pain like you have these last ten years while we were apart, because I vow to you here and now, I was made to be yours and I’m never going anywhere. I love you.”

She dropped her head and kissed my knuckles where her little hands held tightly to them between us and took a couple of calming breaths and wiped away her tears before clearing her throat and looking up at me with such love in her eyes.
