“Hmm.” I mused, incapable of saying anything else as he worked my body back to its boiling point.

“That’s it baby.” He praised when I started clawing at him, chasing euphoria. “There’s my dirty little slut, always ready for more aren’t you?” He asked, rubbing harder on my clit and forcing my orgasm to crescendo, drawing that branding heat out of my core, covering his cock and my thighs.

“Maverick!” I screamed overcome by it all.

“That’s a good girl. Fuck, that’s so sexy Angel.” He growled and thrust harder and then roared his own release into the dark room around us.

He pulled out of me and leaned forward on his arms, gasping for his breath.

I ran my fingertips over the side of his face where he hovered above me. “Well Mr. Jones, I think that was one hell of a way to end a honeymoon.” I smiled up at him as his face split into a breathtaking smile.

He slid his hands around my waist and stood up, taking me with him. I wrapped my legs around him and held on.

“Oh honey, we’ve got almost six more hours before we need to head back to the city, I’m far from done with you.”

“Mr. Jones.” I squeaked scandalously as he carried me down the hallway. “Where are we going?”

“To the spare bedroom since you made such a mess in ours.” He said cheekily and I slapped his chest with a glare.

“Not my fault.”

“No.” He laughed and held me closer. “No it wasn’t baby. But I’m going to let you sleep for a few more hours before I wake you up and wreck the spare room too before we go home.”

“Jeeze Louise.” I murmured but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t completely on board with being used sexually by my husband like this.

Chapter 25- Maverick

I stood in the doorway of our master closet and admired the beauty standing in front of the mirror, twirling side to side to see her reflection in her sapphire blue dress.

“You take my breath away.” I said and watched her crystal blue eyes snap up to mine in the mirror as she looked at me over her shoulder. “I mean it Cora; I’ve never met a woman so capable of knocking me off my feet without even trying.”

She dropped my gaze and smiled as a blush colored her cheeks. She was never particularly good at taking compliments and she hadn’t gotten any better over the years.

“Thank you.” She whispered, looking back up at me as I walked into the room and wrapped my hands around her stomach, settling them on her flat stomach that was growing our baby even as we spoke. She leaned back into my touch and took a deep calming breath as I kissed the skin between her shoulder and neck.

Her hair was swept up again, exposing her neck and I was just as wild about it as I was that day at the boutique.

The day that someone had tried to kill her.

My body tensed as I thought about it again, for the millionth time just today. We still had no leads.

The private detectives I’d hired had found the truck that was used in the assault, but it had been stolen and there were no leads as to who was driving it when it tried to run her down. And now the stakes were even higher to find who was behind this with Cora’s pregnancy.

We decided not to tell anyone about it right away, until we knew where the threat was coming from in hopes of not escalating anything with the news. But I ached to keep her and our baby safe, and I hated feeling helpless.

“What’s that?” She asked, noticing the way I had my hand behind my back.

“What this?” I asked, pulling my arm around and holding out the velvet jewelry box to her with a smile on my hand. “I told you I’d take care of the jewels.”

She smiled brightly up at me and shook her head, “I’m sure Ruby was excited to hear from you again so soon.”

“He was most accommodating.” I replied and then reached around to the front of the box and slowly lifted the lid.

I watched her eyes as she looked in on the diamond and sapphire set laying on the satin cushion waiting to adorn her sexy body. Her eyes widened and her cupids bow lips parted briefly before her smile widened. “Oh Maverick.”

“Here, let me help you.” I said, setting the box down on the island and taking the wide cuff bracelet out and undoing the clasp. It was diamonds and sapphires circling a wide platinum cuff the width of three inches and as soon as I slid it onto her dainty right wrist it slid into place perfectly.

“Wow.” She mused, turning her wrist back and forth to admire the glint of the jewels in the overhead light.
