“Oh, my goodness, that’s right! Your birthday is the solstice.” Lucy jumped. “Oh, we have to have a party.”
“Oh please, no. I don’t like celebrating my birthday,” Mina said, the color draining from her face.
“Who doesn’t like celebrating their birthday?” Lucy scoffed.
“She says she doesn’t like it, but she always ends up having a good time when we celebrate.” Aria sighed.
“Well then, you must stay for the solstice and help me ensure that that happens this time too,” Lucy giggled.
Mina looked back and forth between them in dismay. “I don’t have a choice about this, do I?”
Aria smiled for the first time since she’d arrived in the throne room. “No, I don’t think you do.”
