Approaching him, I plopped down on the small space left on the couch. Unable to keep my expression from looking smug, I tapped his knee with my own. With the thudded hit, I bumped his metal attachment.

“Don’t worry, Blaise. We’re going to have so much fun, I promise. I’ll make the plans and before you know it, we’ll be out on the open road.”

The best I got was an eye roll. Good enough.

Feeling risky, I tossed my legs over his lap. Relaxing, I enjoyed the way his thigh muscles tensed up at the contact. Breathing in, I bit my lip. As always, he carried a clean, dangerous scent. Another part about the man I enjoyed. Everything about him constantly made a tingling sensation in the pit of my stomach.

When Owen decided to gift me my own guardian angel, I didn’t think he would have expected me to become so attached. I hid my feelings pretty well when I tried hard enough. With Blaise in my life, I had no need to have another man around. I knew who I wanted from the very start.

Sometimes, I couldn’t help but look in his direction. Usually, I’d stare long enough to appreciate him slightly more. I absolutely loved looking at him.

I hoped that one day, he’d return my gaze with mutual feelings.
