But that was a lie. The disappointment on his face must have mirrored my own.

“No, I won’t make you come. Not until you really forgive me. I’m not a toy for you to wind up and play with when you want to, to provide answers when you have questions only for you to stalk away, angry as ever.”

“You’re fucking unbelievable, Remy, I can’t—”

“When you forgive me,” he continued as if I hadn’t said a word, “I will make you come so hard you won’t be sure I didn’t send you to the underworld. But right now, we both suffer, and you’ll know that you did this to us.”

He snagged my hand and ran it down his rigid shaft, and I felt it jump against me, like it was just as pissed at Remy as I was. Shit, that was probably true.

“I’ll say it one more time, and that’s the end of it from me. I’m sorry, Fury. I shouldn’t have withheld things from you that you had every right to know. It was a stupid fucking error I will not make again, but you’ll never know unless you let me show you.” He let go of my hand and reached up to draw my face closer to his. “So forgive me and give me the chance.” A brief, but heartbreakingly sweet kiss, and his hand was gone. And then, so was he.

Forgiveness was easier asked for than given, but perhaps I’d kept him at arm’s length long enough. I missed having him in my life, and all it would take to get him back was to let go of my anger.

I could have my tutor back. My friend back.

Plus, I really wanted some of that dick. But yeah, the friend thing, too. Equally import—more! More important.

But only by a little.
