“Sleep tight, Puff.”

He was gone in a breath, taking mine with him. I flopped on my back and tried to aspirate like a human instead of a fish that had been out of water a little too long. Every nerve in my body seemed to be tingling, and I was certain if he hadn’t left when he did, I wouldn’t have spent the night alone. Not a good look at all. Not when I was supposed to still be mad at him.

Not when I was still mad at him.

Because I was.

Still mad.

Very mad.

Rage-filled in a way no Snickers could fix.

There was no denying he’d put a crack in my armor, though. They all had. They’d believed I might be in danger and set out to scour the city for me rather than leaving me to my fate. Damn them and their thoughtfulness. Even Varon, the bastard. I’d have to thank them, no matter how much it would gall me to thank three of the four.

Darrio was the only one who I had no problem expressing my gratitude and apologizing to for my disappearing act. I could have called him earlier, but I’d still been embarrassed about how we’d been caught when that door flew open. Just the thought of the orgasm that had been too powerful to fight off made my center clench with desire for a repeat performance.

Damn, my libido never seemed to get a rest around any of these men, did it?
