“So whenever we have a holiday celebration or dinner party or whatever, we only invite one of them at a time?”

“They’ve barely even started seeing each other. So if they break up, it won’t be a problem for them to be friendly in the future.”

She chuckled. “You have not been paying attention. You didn’t hear them on the phone together. They are... not just into each other, but deeply connected to each other already.”

“Come on. They just met.”

“And the sparks flew and somehow melded them together. Rose texted me earlier. They are very much still together.”

Marc rolled his eyes. “Of course they are.” Marc sat on the sofa and fell into the back of it. “Gray gets everything he wants.”

Her stomach knotted. Everything between them felt off again. “Does it really bother you that he’s with Rose?”

“What?” His brow furrowed. “No,” he scoffed.

She didn’t believe him. “Are you sure? Because you went out of your way to make sure she didn’t know you and I were dating.”

“And this is the reason why. Because all we’re talking about is her.”

“You’re the one who keeps bringing them up after you said this was our night. You thoughtIwouldn’t get over what happened between you and Rose, but it seems likeyou’rethe one who can’t let it go.”

Marc stared at her, then sighed. “You’re right. It’s me.”

Her heart pounded in her chest. “What do you mean?” Was he really not over Rose?

“I’ve worked really hard since we met to be a different and better man for you. I wanted so badly to be the man you wanted and needed, not the guy I used to be who cheated on his girlfriend.” He rolled his eyes. “I know I made it worse by ending things by cheating. I was stupid. But I didn’t want to be that way with you. For the first time, I opened myself up to really being with you, exploring all we could be together, and building a solid friendship, so that when we disagreed or things got complicated we could fall back on that and talk to each other about how we feel.”

“Then tell me, how do you really feel about Rose and Gray being together?”

“I don’t want to care, but I do, because I don’t want it to come betweenus.”

“It won’t.”

One side of his mouth drew back in a half frown. “Right. Look at us.”

She slipped off the bed and went to him, straddling his lap and tracing her finger down the side of his face. “Look at you with your naked fiancée wrapped around you, wanting your attention, loving you for being the guy who worked so hard to be everything she wanted, and so ready to be your wife.”

He checked her out, his lips twitching as he tried to hide his smile, but she saw the heat in his eyes oh so clearly. “I’m so damn lucky.”

“Yesweare. Now what are you going to do with your naked soon-to-be wife?”

“I’m going to start with this.” He slid his hand into her hair, drew her close, then kissed her softly. “And move on to this.” He kissed his way down her neck to the top of her breast. “And I definitely need a taste of this.” He flicked his tongue over her nipple, then took it into his mouth and sucked hard and deep, sending a wave of heat through her system, dampening her soft folds as his fingers glided over her, one, then two, diving deep inside her.

She sighed and gripped her hand in his hair to hold him to her. “You always make me feel so good.”

He released her breast and nuzzled his cheek and chin against it. “These are good, but I want more.” He slipped his hands under her legs and stood with her straddling his waist, setting her ass on the end of the bed as he fell to his knees. He draped her legs over his shoulders and buried his face between her thighs, pressing her legs wide, so he could lick and lave and plunge his tongue inside her.

He kept her right on the edge, bringing her up to the brink, lulling her back into enjoying the feel of his mouth on her, then building things back up until he slid two fingers inside her, sucked her clit, and sent her right over the edge.

As the first of the aftershocks rocked her, he stood, undid his jeans, and thrust his cock into her, hard and deep, pulling her to him by her thighs. He held her hips above the bed and kept control, slamming into her again and again until she climaxed a second time and he tossed his head back and spilled himself inside her with a deep, satisfied groan before he fell forward and collapsed on top of her, his face in her neck, his breath sawing in and out.

It took a moment for him to raise his head and stare down at her. “You okay?”

“Perfect. I can’t feel my legs.”

“Good. Then I can keep you happy in this bed all night.” He kissed her, long and deep, his tongue sliding along hers. “I can never get enough of you.”

She tamped down all thoughts that something still wasn’t emotionally right between them and focused on the physical and sexual connection that always worked for them. “You can have all you want for the rest of our lives.”

“Promise?”

“I do,” she vowed, thinking that in just a few days she’d make that vow again. But tonight, they’d worship each other’s bodies and reconnect, and tomorrow they’d focus ontheirrelationship and the wedding and the rest of their lives together.
