Chapter 13

Kyra woke to the scent of French toast and maple syrup.

“You’re awake, sleepyhead,” Brock said, looking sexy in his pajama bottoms and his hair messy from sleep.

“I’m starving.”

“I figured you would be, so I ordered breakfast.” He handed her lavender robe to her. “Ready to eat?”

“More than ready.”

She got up, not even feeling self-conscious about being naked in front of him, and remembered their evening. It had been the most wonderful night of her life, and as soon as she tied the belt on her robe she launched herself at him and turned her face up for a kiss.

“I haven’t brushed my teeth yet,” she warned as Brock lowered his face to hers, but all he did was growl as he kissed her.

“Doesn’t matter to me one bit,” he said.

“I need to go brush. I’ll be right there.”

When she got to the living area and saw breakfast laid out on the table, her stomach growled. He’d ordered some orange juice for her and there was bacon, in addition to the French toast.

“How are you feeling today?” Brock asked as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

“I feel great. I feel amazing,” she said before shoveling a huge piece of French toast dripping with syrup into her mouth, followed by a bite of bacon.

“Are you sure, Ky? Yesterday was pretty intense in more ways than one.”

She took a moment to finish chewing. “I have never felt more alive in my entire life,” she admitted. “I have no regrets. Not about last night with you.”

Brock regarded her quietly as he bit into a piece of bacon, and she was instantly hit with a pang of guilt.

“Actually, I do have some regrets.” She dropped her chin to her chest.

Brock set his bacon back on the plate. “What might those be?”

“I regret not seeing the truth a long time ago.”

“That’s on him, not on you,” Brock said, reaching for her.

She stepped closer, letting him take her hand and pull her into a hug.

“I regret taking off the way I did and making you worry and almost getting me and Starling hurt really bad.” She could feel herself slipping into Little space as the guilt set in deep in her tummy. “I feel really really guilty. I made really bad choices and broke big rules.”

“Yes, you did, and you apologized for them, but I think maybe you might need a little help releasing some of that guilt.”

She nodded. “Will you help me, Daddy?”

“What are you asking for exactly, baby? We haven’t discussed any of this before and we can’t move forward until we do.”

“I think I’m asking for a spanking,” she whispered, unsure how all of this was supposed to work. “You’ve threatened it before and it’s something I kinda always thought I needed, but never had in the past.”

“You’ve never been spanked other than what we did just for fun in the shower?” he asked, disbelief evident in his tone.

She laid her head against his chest and sighed. This was hard, especially when she felt so vulnerable, but even in her Little space, she knew she had to tell him these things.

“No, I used to get belittled mostly when Richard got mad. Belittled or ignored completely. I never got punished in a way that made the bad feelings in my tummy go away. In a way that helped me work it out.”

Rock growled and she swore she could almost hear the blood boiling in his veins. “He’s lucky I didn’t know that before I punched him, yesterday.” He squeezed her tight. “I promise I will never talk down to you, and I’ll certainly never ignore you or any bad behavior. I will correct and guide you in a way that’s meant to build you up and help you be the best version of yourself.”
