“Thanks, guys!” he said to the flight staff, who waved as we exited the airplane.

The sun wasn’t up yet but it was hotter than I was feeling inside. I can’t lie—I did feel like a princess as we took the airstairs down to the tarmac. It wasn’t anything remotely close to the life I was used to living, and I’d just taken a major step forward as well.

I was no longer a virgin. I’d given myself to Trent, the most deserving man I’d ever met in my life. He’d showed me a world I didn’t even know I’d been missing out on, and the things I was feeling for him now…well, let’s just say I’d never even come close to feeling anything like that before.

A huge smile was plastered all over my face as we walked to the car he had waiting. I don’t know what it was, but it clearly cost more than a nice house. He held my hand as we slid in the backseat. Alfred got in up front and we started to drive.

I felt like royalty as we drove to the hotel. We pulled up out front, men came out and took our bags, and we stepped into a lobby that looked like the kind of place celebrities would rent out for an Oscar party or something.

“Mmmm, I can’t wait to see our room,” I said, cuddling up next to my man.

My man…

“Here’s the key,” Alfred told me. I took it from him. “Trent and I have a couple of things to discuss. Why don’t you go up and make yourself comfortable?”

I looked at Trent, who gave me a reluctant nod.

“Yeah, gotta deal with a few things,” he said, pecking me on the forehead like we’d been going out for years. “I’ll be right up.”

“Okay,” I said. I leaned in and cupped his bulge and whispered in his ear, “Don’t keep me waiting.”

“I wouldn’t dream of it,” he whispered back, his strong voice sending a shiver through me. I made my way to the elevators and managed to sneak in just before the doors were closing. There was another woman standing in the corner wearing dark sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat like she didn’t want to be recognized.

Probably a celebrity, I thought, feeling suddenly like the cool down in high school.

“Floor?” she asked me. I checked my key.

“Twelfth.”

“What a coincidence,” she replied as she thumbed the button. “So am I.”

The elevator started up and I leaned back against the wall and closed my eyes, hoping that Trent wouldn’t be more than five or ten minutes doing whatever it was he was doing. Sure, we’d just had sex on the flight over, but I was feeling insatiable. It was like a dam had broken inside of me and unleashed the flood waters of desire and I was riding them high on a surfboard with my eyes on the horizon.

“You know…I shouldn’t say anything,” the woman said softly. “But I just can’t help myself.”

I opened my eyes to find her looking at me, smiling like she had the world’s greatest secret to tell me.

“Guess who I’m going to see?” she asked.

I shrugged. “I really couldn’t say. I’m not even from Houston—”

“Trent Baron!”

My heart stopped. All the breath left my lungs, and although I fought against it, my mouth fell open in shock.

“I know, right?” she replied happily, biting the corner of her lip. “He slid into my DMs—I’m actually an influencer—and told me to meet him here so we could ‘blow off steam’ before his game. He even paid for my ticket and everything!”

No…

I felt the tears beginning to well up in my eyes as my breath returned and I gasped for air. I turned away as I began to cry, pretending I had to fix my hair, but she picked up on it immediately.

“Aw, honey,” she cooed. “Are you all right?”

“I’m fine,” I replied. “I just—I have something in my eye.”

“Oh…” she said knowingly. “Oh, he told you to come too, didn’t he? That is so like professional football players. They’re dogs, honey. They all are. I’m just in this for the publicity.”

“Pub—publicity?”
