“That was a wonderful summer. I lost my virginity that summer,” Beth said.

“Let me guess, Ash.”

She grinned. “Yep. God, what a long hard road we’ve been on, but look where we are.”

I smiled, so happy for my friend. I pulled her on stage and we did our old-time favorite from our teenage karaoke days, Thank You For Being a Friend.

When we finished, we had a standing ovation from Sara and Grace. “You two need to take that on the road,” Sara said as we got back to our seats.

Beth laughed. “What do you think, Morgan. Can we make a living from that?”

I shook my head. “I think Ash and Hannah would miss you if you went on the road.”

“She’s right.”

“These wings are awesome,” Sara said licking her fingers.

“They’re not bad,” I said sitting down and taking a sip of my lemon drop drink.

“You should taste Morgan’s wings,” Beth said. “I envy Hannah all the wonderful meals you’ve made for her.”

“She’s my sous chef.” I had a bit of sadness knowing I probably wouldn’t be cooking with Hannah as much anymore.

“I saw Kade feeding you last night,” Sara said. “What did you think of his food?”

“I think she would have liked to eat him up,” Grace said.

My eyes shot open wide. God, had it been obvious?

“Who wouldn’t?” Beth said, sipping her cosmopolitan.

“Are you just talking, or is there something there?” Sara asked. “I swear, this baby has made me less aware of what’s going on around me.”

“There’s nothing,” I said quickly.

Grace quirked a brow.

“You have to watch out for, Kade,” Beth said, her features turning serious. “He’s a player.”

I waved my hand. “It’s not like that. We both like food, that’s it.”

“I don’t know. Food is very sensual, especially the way Kade was feeding it to you,” Grace said.

“I’m not his type.” My drink was finished so I looked for our waitress to order another one.

“What do you mean?” Beth asked.

“I mean, I’m not his type.” When the waitress arrived, I ordered a plain soda. I wanted a drink, but I needed to keep my wits about me so that Beth had a good party.

“You’re a woman and like food. I think that’s his type,” Sara chimed in.

I pursed my lips as I stared at Sara. “The women he’s normally with don’t like food, which is why they weigh less than a hundred pounds dripping wet.”

“Don’t underestimate a man’s attraction to a woman with curves,” Grace said.

“She’s right,” Beth said. “But I’d be careful around Kade.”

I blew out a breath, hoping I could change the subject. “We’ve got more places to go, ladies.”

“I’m really not going to fit into my dress,” Beth said.

“I’m loving it,” Sara said. “I swear I could eat an elephant.”

Our next stop was a taco food truck. I worried it would be too low class for the ladies, but Beth and I often enjoyed underrated cuisine from food trucks.

“Oh my god. Tacos. You’re spoiling me, Morgan. You ladies are going to love these,” Beth said to Sara and Grace. “They’re not as good as Morgan’s, but they’ll do.”

“You cook tacos, too?” Grace asked me as we stepped up to the truck to order.

“I do.”

“She’s the best cook ever.” Beth put her arm around me, giving me a squeeze. “I mean, Kade’s food is good, but it’s so frou-frou. I doubt he’s ever had a taco, and certainly not one from a truck.”

“I doubt any Raven man eats from a truck,” I quipped.

“Ash takes Hannah for dirty water dogs,” Beth said.

“It’s a terrible name,” Sara said. “But they’re so good.”

“Have you ever thought about cooking professionally?” Grace asked me as we took our tacos into the park and sat on a bench.

I shrugged. “I’ve sometimes dreamed of owning my own food cart.”

“Why haven’t you?” Sara asked, placing a napkin over her large belly.

It wasn’t bad enough to feel self-conscious about being around three gorgeous, skinny women, Sara’s pregnancy notwithstanding. But now I had to highlight my poverty.

“It takes money and time. I don’t have much of either.”

“Morgan, thank you for not dragging me to a male strip club. This has been so wonderful,” Beth said, putting her hand on my thigh as she changed the subject, like she knew I didn’t want to reveal my financial situation in front of the richest wives in America.

“What’s the point? None of the guys in a strip club would be hotter than your fiancé,” I said.

“You got that right,” Beth agreed with a suggestive eye waggle.

“I bet the Raven brothers could make another billion in their own all-male revue,” I said.

Beth laughed. “No doubt.”

“I prefer to have private showings,” Grace said.

Sara laughed. “I do like a good striptease.”

“TMI, ladies,” I said good-naturedly. In my mind though, I wondered what Kade would look like doing a striptease.

“Do you think the men are at a strip club?” Grace asked.
