He clasped my hand into his, the gesture silencing me immediately. “It’s OK,” he said. “I’m glad.”

My eyes went wide. “Are you serious?” I asked. “You’re…happy?”

“I mean, I’m shocked as hell,” he said. “Not what I expected to hear from you when I showed up. But…how could I not be happy about it? Shania, I love you like crazy. I know it’s not something that we talked about, but that’s what life with someone you love is all about, right? When something like this happens, you do it together.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Not that I didn’t think Sean was capable of this kind of sentiment, but more that I was…I was thrilled.

I threw my arms around him and pulled him close, kissing him all over his stupidly handsome face.

“Now,” he said. “With you having some news you wanted to share…”

My turn to be confused.

“I was going to do this after the first day, but being here with you, knowing we’re going to have a kid together…I dunno, seems like the perfect time.”

Before I could consider what he might be talking about, he reached into his pocket and took out a small black box.

I let out the gasp to end all gasps as he opened it and revealed a gorgeous diamond ring.

“Shania Simms,” he said, holding the box out. “Will you—”

I didn’t let him finish. “Yes!” I exclaimed, throwing my arms around him and nearly knocking the ring out of his hand and into the fountain.

He slipped it on my finger and held it up to the natural light that poured in, watching the beautiful ring sparkle.

“Figure we’re still wedding’ed up from the last two,” he said with a smile. “So let’s handle one thing at a time.”

“Happy to,” I said with the biggest, dopiest grin ever.

We kissed again, this time slowly, passionately, deeply enough that I began to wonder if we might need to delay the opening for a half hour or so.

“OK,” he said. “You ready to do this thing?”

“So ready,” I said. “And then after we close for the day…”

“A little private celebration,” he said.

The look in his eyes made it clear exactly what he meant.

So, hand in hand, we stepped out of the space and back into the main lobby. The crowd outside was even bigger than it had been, and already all our friends had shown up, ready to celebrate.

“I love you, Shania,” he said. “So much it makes me feel like I’m going a little crazy.”

“I love you too,” I said. “So much that I understand exactly how you feel.”

“As long as we can be crazy in love together,” he said with a grin.

“You got it.”

That was that. It was time to get the show on the road. It was time to celebrate.

And with Sean by my side, along with my best friends, I knew it wouldn’t be hard.
