I smiled and nodded, watching as she walked away. I was still trying to find the bathroom when I felt a familiar hand on the small of my back.

I turned and smiled up at Logan. “Well, hey there.”

“Did I just see you talking to my mother?” he asked with an arched eyebrow, his hand sliding down to squeeze my butt.

“You did. She told me I changed you.”

“She’s not wrong.”

Smiled and leaned up, pressing my lips to his. “How did things go with Robbie?”

He turned us and we headed towards the kitchen. “We came to an understanding. Everything’s fine. Well, mostly everything.”

I turned, hating how serious he sounded. “What’s wrong?”

He sighed and then frowned, shaking his head. My heart leapt into my throat.

“It’s just… I hate the fact that I can’t get you out of this fucking dress right now.”

I laughed, shaking my head and slapping a hand against his chest. I was so crazy in love with him. With his sarcasm and his laugh, the smile that lit up his entire face. I was so in love with the way he looked at me.

“Later,” I promised with a wink.

THE PARTY WASN’T COMPLETELY awful. Well, for the most part. Eventually, Genevieve got way too drunk and started picking fights with everyone, including me and poor Knox. The place cleared out soon after that with Robert and Robbie helping Genevieve up to bed. We offered to stick around and help clean up, but Abby insisted we leave. I had a feeling it was because she and Knox were hoping to sneak off for some alone time, but I wasn’t going to say that to Logan.

We sang the whole way home with me dancing in the passenger seat.

Things came so easily for us. Smiling with him was easy, laughing with him was easy. Loving Logan was the easiest thing I ever did.

I ran my fingers through his hair as he pulled into his parking spot, my fingers tugging at the hair at his nape lightly.

Logan smiled, grabbing my hand and kissing my knuckles. “Always have?”

“Always will,” I whispered.

It seemed that saying that was our thing. Huh. I never thought I’d have a thing with anyone. But there I was sitting in the front seat, hopelessly in love, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

We walked to his house hand in hand, greeted by Mac and Sadie as soon as we were over the threshold. Whenever one of us was gone, we left the dogs together. It seemed as though they’d become best friends, nearly inseparable.

“You know what my favorite part about tonight was?” Logan asked as he locked the door, turning me in his arms.

“What?”

“That smile.” he responded, the tip of his finger tracing my mouth.

I gave an ear to ear grin and then playfully took his finger his finger in my mouth, swirling my tongue around the digit and sucking all the way down to his knuckle.

His smile vanished, jaw clenching as his eyes zeroed in on my mouth. When he went to pull his hand away I grabbed his wrist with both hands, looking up into his eyes as I repeated the motion, my tongue circling his finger.

“Every part of you tastes so good,.” I whispered as he cupped my face with both hands.

“Funny,” he whispered back, his lips millimeters from mine. “I was just about to say the same thing.”

Logan’s mouth crashed against mine in a bruising kiss. I clung to him, opening my mouth against his onslaught while he swallowed my moan. He backed up against the side of the couch, fingers tearing at my coat and pushing it off my shoulders while I did the same to him. I giggled against his mouth at his impatience, biting his bottom lip and tugging until he groaned.

“Vixen,” he said against my mouth. “You’re a fucking vixen.”

We tumbled onto the couch and I laughed until I saw the pained look on his face. I quickly tried to get off him but he grabbed my hips, holding me against him. “I’m fine.”
