“Hayden, that’s not going to ever happen. Close your eyes.”

“Why?”

“Just do it.”

I closed my eyes.

“You invite me to meet your parents. They ask me where I attend school. I tell them Georgia State University. They frown. They ask if I’m a full-time student or do I work and go to school. I say, I do both. They ask where do you work. I reply I’m a stripper. The room falls quiet.”

My eyes popped open. I know her words hold weight. “What if I say, I don’t care?”

She chuckled. “Then you are lying to yourself. You would only be able to defend me for so long. You might even lose money because of me.”

I cupped my hands together on the table. She placed her hands over mine. “I wish I could tell you this would work. We do make an attractive couple. The sex between us would probably be hot. I can’t tell you, oh let’s just have sex, because I’m not having sex with you or any other man.”

My eyebrows rose. “You’re celibate? For how long?”

“Twenty-two years.”

My eyes almost popped out of my head. “What? You’re a virgin?”

“Yes, I’m a virgin stripper.” She rolled her eyes.

“Just because I haven’t had sex before doesn’t mean I can’t sell the illusion of sex. It works doesn’t it?”

“Yeah, it works.” A smile curled my lips.

“Hayden, don’t get excited. You are not taking my virginity.” She folded her arms.

“I’m only giving myself to my husband later in life once I put my stripper days behind me.”

I stared out the window.

“Why are you upset?”

My blue eyes stared deep into her gray ones. “Because you lied.”

Her eyebrows scrunched together. “I didn’t.”

“You said you would give us a chance. That is not what you are doing. You are trying to convince yourself not to fall in love with me. I can see it’s not working.”

Her face turned bright red as she ran her hand along the back of her neck.

“It doesn’t matter. I can’t fall in love with some rich playboy who will only rip my heart from my chest. No, I can’t.” Her eyes tore away from mine.

I slipped over into the booth next to her. “Sex will come, but right now, I want to spend time getting to know you.”

She continued staring out the window.

“I know you hear me Lydia.”

“Please take me home,” she sniffled.

“But first excuse me, I need to go to the restroom.”

I stood watching her slide out the booth rushing into the bathroom.

Fuck, I thought.

I paid the check while I waited for Lydia to return.

“I’m ready.”

I turned glancing down at her. She appeared much shorter in her boots.

“Good night Betty,” I said.

Lydia hugged Betty. “I’ll see you next time.”

“Alright, be safe.”

I threaded our fingers together, walking out of the restaurant.

“Sorry, I kept you out until 6:30.”

She smiled.

I slid my seat back as far as it would go.

“Come here.”

“No.”

“No one can see us behind the tinted windows.”

She didn’t move.

I lifted her into my lap.

“Hayden.”

Her pussy melted against my dick. “This is what you do to me. This is what you have done to me from the first time you stared into my eyes. I want you Lydia. I want you for myself. I don’t want to share you with the hundreds of guys pawing at you every night.”

Her hands rested against my chest as it rose and fell.

“The hardest thing about us is, I will have to try my best to handle you working at the strip club. The other night, I wanted to bash Stacy’s celebrity face in. The way he and his friends laughed about having you for their personal pleasure. I fucking hate that shit! I took care of that piece of shit Monday morning.”

Her hands flew over her mouth as her eyes widened.

“I saw him on Rags tv show. He said he got into a fight.”

“Yeah, I beat the shit out of him. I told him you don’t degrade women like that. It wasn’t right. I won’t allow a man to disrespect you.”

Her soft hand massaged my cheek. “You can’t beat up every man that does stupid shit.”
