Grim’s Last Chance

That was the first time.

The second time, he had fucked her until she couldn’t even remember her own name. They were going to have to talk about the fact he wasn’t wearing a condom, and she wasn’t taking anything to prevent pregnancy, so the risks were getting higher and higher. It was a conversation they could save for another time.

He kissed her temple now, and she looked over to see Mac rubbing his hands together. “What is going to be the first meal you make?” he asked. “I got out some Italian sausage and ground beef.” He pulled out his cell phone, and she couldn’t help but laugh as he’d pulled up her website to show her what he wanted.

“You visit my website?” she asked.

“Honey, I am subscribed and I am so looking forward to your next video. You know what, I’m thinking I could be a guest star.”

“A guest star?”

“Yeah, you could do a whole series dedicated to teaching the helpless biker man to cook.”

This made her laugh. She never for a second thought the Chaos Monsters MC would help her like this. It was just incredible, and she was so touched.

“I like that.”

“And she will only be teaching you how to cook,” Grim said. “Don’t be getting any ideas.”

He pointed his finger toward Mac, to which the club brother merely stuck his tongue out, then gave Grim the finger.

“This guy ever gives you any kind of trouble, all you’ve got to do is come to me, and I’ll straighten him out. Do you understand me?” Mac asked.

Betty rested her head against Grim. Trouble? Grim was anything but trouble for her.

Maeve pulled her aside and asked if she wanted to test it out. Grim gave her a thumbs-up, so she spent the morning making some lunchtime casseroles. The bikers all looked happy, and Maeve was there, assessing the cameras as they filmed.

Now, all she needed was to purchase a laptop to work on the edits. While the casseroles were cooking, Eden and Razor came in with a surprise, and it was a used laptop—one of Eden’s older ones. She had spent the morning wiping and setting everything up, so she would be able to get started right away.

Betty was so shocked and so touched.

By the end of lunch, Grim grabbed her hand, as each biker member was asking her a question about certain food items. She already had multiple requests for brownies of many flavors, including salted caramel, peanut butter, and a cheesecake variety. More cakes than she could remember. They were all flavors seen within a supermarket or bakery, and she had to explain more than once that she could cook or bake cooked Mac even asked her if she could recreate spaghetti sauce. She didn’t know if they were just trying to be polite, or if they really were that curious. She decided she was going to see that they were curious when it came to her food.

Finally, Grim was able to steal her away, and it did feel he had to pull her away from the crowd of people. They were being so lovely. They made it to his bedroom, and Grim pressed her up against the door, so they were the only two people once again.

“I’m kind of regretting bringing you to the club, or telling them to watch your videos.”

“You told them to watch my videos?” she asked.

“I kind of advised them to.”

“Grim, come on.”

“They’ve fallen in love with you,” Grim said, and he reached out to tuck a curl behind her ear. “Just like I have.”

Betty froze as she looked at him. She wasn’t quite sure if she’d heard him properly. Had she?

“What?”

“I ... have ... fallen ... in ... love ... with ... you.” He spoke slowly, calmly, leaving a space in between each word, and Betty was shocked.

“You love me?” she asked.

“Yes, that’s what I wanted to tell you last night. I’ve fallen in love with you, Betty Jackson, and there is nothing in the world I want more, than to be with you.”

She looked into his eyes, laughed, and threw her arms around him, kissing him. He wrapped his arms around her back, as he didn’t quite have a choice, and she kissed him back. She couldn’t stop kissing him. It felt like a compulsion.

“I love you too,” Betty said. “And I was kind of scared to tell you because I didn’t know if this was supposed to be a casual thing, or ... I don’t know.”
