“No!”

“Yeah.”

The line went silent.

“Are you still there?”

“Yeah. Did you ask because you want to share or because you need advice?”

“Both.”

“How good was it?”

“That’s the thing. It was more than just sex. He took me to Costco, helped me cook, took me for a ride on his bike to the cutest little town in Alachua county.”

London hummed under her breath. “You messed up.”

“How?”

“You just described the montage from a love story.”

I scoffed. “Baloney! You watched too many Hallmark movies with your Mom.”

London chuckled. “In this case, we’re both right. Mom needs an intervention, but there are worse things she could be doing. You moved beyond fling and into sex with light dating.”

I frowned. “And now I have to pretend it never happened.”

“Which is why the best flings normally involve strangers, Mick.”

“You’re right. I messed up.”

“How did he leave it?”

I took a deep breath. “Said he’s gonna be scarce because I didn’t want anyone to know.”

“Why? Your family knows and respects him.”

A wry chuckle bubbled out of me. “As Riot MC brothers, sure. As my man, they’ll lose it. He’s twenty years older, and… don’t judge.”

“Don’t insult me.”

“Right. He works at Platinum’s Gentleman’s Club.”

“Well. Can he get me in for free?”

“London.”

“I’m kidding because I got nothing else. This isn’t something I’ve ever dealt with before.”

“What about that professor?”

“That was a teaching assistant. It was one weekend and the semester had ended. I may have wanted more, but he moved to New Jersey. Besides, I didn’t want him so much as his moves.”

That didn’t help me.

London continued. “My best advice is time. You’re gonna need time. Or you need to see if your family will change their minds.”

That wasn’t likely to happen.
