“Get off me! I need to see Emin!” I shout at the top of my lungs.

He completely ignores me. “Adam, do you see the shooter?”

I don’t hear what Adam’s telling Noa, but after a couple more minutes… Noa strips himself from me. The moment he is off me, I leap towards Emin.

“Tell the doctor to come down here, now!” I yell at fucking anybody, and before the doctor arrives, I cradle Emin’s head in my lap.

I look into his eyes, and I can’t stop the tears falling from my face. They land on his cheeks, just like the tiny rain droplets.

“Emin, don’t you dare leave me. Don’t you dare die!” My voice is breaking, and with every syllable, I’m hiccupping.

“Don’t…” he whispers. His hand reaches for me, but he stops halfway.

His eyes roll back.

Then he collapses.

“No! No! No!”

I search his face for any sign of movement. Of life. But there’s nothing. Then I feel it.

Wet.

Something is so wet.

I look at my hand, and it’s covered in blood. And it’s coming from Emin’s head.

I look around in hopes of a way out. But there is nothing. There is no one.

Only the guards and Noa.

Noa.

“Lana, move! Somebody get a fucking car!”

“On it!” Noa shouts at the doctor, and he brings a medical kit with him. The doctor checks for a pulse and breathing.

“He has a penetrating head injury. Nobody fucking dare remove the bullet! Noa, help me get Emin in the car.”

The doctor gets in the passenger seat, and Noa takes Emin in his arms and places him in the seat beside the doctor.

I am unable to move. This isn’t fucking happening.

“Get the fuck in!” Noa grabs me by my arm and pushes me in the front seat, while he gets behind the steering wheel. The drive to the nearest hospital is fifteen fucking minutes, but Noa is driving so fast that it will probably take us less than ten minutes.

We arrive at the hospital, and a team of doctors and nurses and a gurney are waiting for us. I step out of the car and rush to Emin’s side. My attempt fails to help him as the team of doctors and nurses are quicker.

They load him up on the gurney and move fast.

Noa, my doctor, and I run behind the medical team, but a nurse stops us from entering a door.

“I can’t let you through. He is being taken to the operating room, and we will update you as soon as we have more information.” Then she is off as well.

Operating room.

Operating room?

Are they going to perform surgery?
