Cain

His control disappeared then with a groan I felt in my soul.

He was moving then.

Not fast.

But measured and deep, giving my body a chance to adjust to the fullness of him, the newness of sensation.

It wasn’t long before the need had us both moving faster, before our sounds filled the air, before he was fucking me hard and fast.

“Fuck, baby,” he groaned, feeling me tighten around him. “That’s it. Let me feel you come.”

One more surge deep inside gave him exactly what he wanted.

A cry—sharp, almost alarmed—escaped me as the orgasm broke through me, so intense I swear I felt it in every limb, deep down into my soul.

Cain pressed deep, his body jerking as he came with me.

His weight came down on me after, both of our hearts pounding, our breath coming in frantic huffs.

I tightened my arms and legs around him, holding him tight as my body pulsed and fluttered.

“I’m crushing you,” he said when he tried to pull against my hold but I only held him tighter.

“I’m not complaining.”

“You’re injured,” he added, using his strength to break the hold, dropping down onto the mattress, then rolling me onto his chest instead.

“I’m fine,” I insisted, knowing he was probably already worried he’d been too rough with me. Like I hadn’t been pleading for it the whole time. “I don’t feel any pain right now, actually,” I added as I traced little shapes on his chest.

“When all that dopamine wears off, you might.”

“Nope,” I insisted, snuggling closer.

“You’re sure you’re not hurting?”

“I’m sure.”

“Not even your neck?” he asked, his hand gently massaging me there.

A little snort escaped me when I realized why he was asking.

“No, I did not make my whiplash worse from doing that,” I said, feeling my cheeks flame, and I was glad he couldn’t really see.

“I need to be gentle with you for a little bit still.”

“I will tell you if you’re being too rough.”

“Will you?” he asked.

I hated that Perry still did, at times, come between us. But the reality was, a lot of my life was spent living life the way Perry forced me to. So it was going to take time to unlearn all of that. And for Cain to feel certain that I would freely express my feelings, needs, and boundaries without him constantly needing to check in.

“I will.”

Because I trusted him to believe me and act accordingly.

“Okay,” he agreed, leaning down to press a kiss to the top of my head.

I knew I’d been falling for a while.
