“Oh please,” she says.

“Anyone but you,” I groan from inside his arms. “You’re his mother.”

Claude huffs and extends her wings. Tyrion does the same.

“We will practice for a few hours every day until you become more aware of your dragon,” he tells his son.

Ezra grumbles but nods.

“You two have a lovely day,” Tyrion continues, but he’s watching Claude as they lift into the air together. “I need to have some alone time with my Claudia.”

“Ewww.” I clap a hand over my eyes.

It’s one thing to smell my pack’s arousal all the time, and Kade’s whenever her mate is around. Hell, Leah can be washing dishes and Kade’s turned on. But Claude and Tyrion? My future in-laws?

I guess I better get used to it. I’ll be a permanent resident of Ash Clan soon enough.

They disappear over the treetops and leave me alone in the clearing with Ezra. He doesn’t let go. I twist around in his arms to face him.

“Well.” I poke him in the side. “Do you want to talk about why you’re having trouble shifting?”

“Not really,” he says, and smoke puffs out of his nostrils.

I smile at that. Challenge accepted.

EZRA

My parents disappear into the clouds while I’m still holding Aya against my chest, her face buried in my shirt to escape the scent of my mother’s arousal. I don’t blame her. Some things you just don’t want to smell.

“Well,” she says as she leans back in my arms. “Do you want to talk about why you’re having trouble shifting?”

I pull her in close again. “Not really.”

She smiles up at me with her silver eyes gone sharp, and my dragon stirs under all his guilt. He can tell our mate is hunting.

She breaks away and shoves me hard. I stumble backward into the nearest tree with the bark scraping my shoulders through my shirt. She’s on me in an instant and plants her hands flat on my chest. Leaves shake loose overhead and rain down around us. When her mouth comes down on mine, she catches my bottom lip with her teeth. My dragon loses his mind over her aggression.

I growl and grab her waist as she presses her body against mine. The heat coming off her skin burns through her dress. I can smell her getting wet for me. I grind my aching dick into her belly for any friction I can get.

When she steps back, I chase her lips with a whine that would embarrass me if I wasn’t so far gone.

She wags a finger in my face. “I want to talk about why you can’t shift.”

I blink at her, my brain still foggy from the kiss. “What?”

“Your dragon.” She puts her hands on her hips. I want her plastered to me even though she’s close enough to touch. “You couldn’t shift last night. You can’t shift now. What’s going on?”

“Aya.” I reach for her, but she dodges my hand. “Can we not do this right now?”

“When would you like to do it?”

I gesture down at the bulge in my pants. “I don’t know, maybe when my dick isn’t this hard?”

She rolls her eyes at me, but her lips twitch. “Talk first. Then we can continue.”

“You’re killing me,” I mutter.
