The Wolf Prince

Page 8

by C.D. Gorri

It's a Wolf.

Except—it’s not an ordinary Wolf.

“Holy shit.”

That is the biggest fucking Wolf I have ever seen.

And I live in Castor's Corner.

I know Wolf Shifters.

My best friend's mate is a Wolf Shifter.

I've taught Wolf Shifters.

I've broken up arguments between teenage Wolf Shifters who were one insult away from sprouting fur and destroying my classroom.

This is not my first supernatural rodeo.

But this creature? He's enormous.

His shoulders must come nearly to my waist, and his black coat is so thick he looks even bigger. Powerful muscles shift beneath all that fur as he takes another step toward me.

Definitely a he.

Don't ask me how I know.

I just do.

Maybe it's the sheer arrogance in the way he's staring at me.

I've met men with that look before.

Usually right before I decide I don't like them.

“Okay.”

I lift both hands. The Wolf stops.

“Hi.”

One black ear twitches.

“I don't suppose you've seen two teenagers around here?”

No answer. Duh.

“One boy. One girl. Both currently on my shit list.”

His head tilts. I blink.

“Did you just understand me?”

The Wolf straightens his head.

“Oh, Goddess. You did.”

Or I'm projecting.
