Marquez looks at me.

“Simon was surprised.”

I saw him standing on the bridge after the explosion.

He wasn’t pleased.

He wasn’t laughing.

He stared toward the damaged stern as though someone had taken control away from him.

“He didn’t order the explosion,” I continue. “Someone else aboard that ship did.”

On the Argent Star, Donald drags Naomi away from the bridge windows.

Simon grabs his arm.

Even from the helicopter feed, I can see them arguing.

Donald shoves him.

Simon strikes him across the face.

The gun in Donald’s hand swings away from Naomi.

She runs.

“Naomi!” Ivy screams through the radio.

Naomi reaches the bridge door.

A crew member blocks her.

She drives her bound hands into his stomach and kicks his knee. The man falls against the doorway.

Naomi makes it onto the outer walkway.

“Jump!” Storm shouts, even though Naomi can’t hear her. “Get off that ship!”

Naomi looks toward the dark water.

Fire blocks the stern. The current pulls the ship toward the rocks on the eastern side of the channel.

She turns toward the bow.

Donald catches her hair before she reaches the stairs.

He drags her backward.

Ivy makes a furious sound.

Ward holds her as she fights to move closer to the monitor.

“Ben’s team will get her,” he says.

“They’re trying to find Ben.”

“They’ll find both of them.”
