Stone Cold Alien

I had imagined finding the source of that pull would bring me peace. Instead, it had brought me a human healer who ordered me about and whose blood I could smell whenever she came close.

At the road, the human male called Joseph had opened the back of the vehicle. There was not enough space for my wings, even with the right one folded.

“We could wait for the van,” Pam suggested.

“How long?” I asked.

“About an hour.”

“I am not standing beside this road for an hour.”

Getting into the vehicle was difficult. Cairn supported my injured wing while I lowered myself onto the back seat. Robyn climbed in beside me, but my right wing took up most of the remaining space.

“You’ll have to move closer,” I told her.

“There isn’t anywhere closer.”

She squeezed sideways until her thigh pressed against mine. The connection between us warmed. My tail slid across the seat and settled over her lap.

Robyn looked down at it. “For balance?”

“Yes.”

It was a lie.

Cairn swept his mate into his arms and launched himself into the air. They’d follow the vehicle. I wished I could do the same.

Joseph started the engine. The vehicle moved forward with a sudden jerk, throwing Robyn against my chest.

Her hand landed on my stomach. Her breasts pressed against my side and her face came close enough that I felt her breath on my neck.

My cock hardened beneath my battle wrap. Cloch. She’d be able to feel it.

Robyn froze. “Did I hurt your wing?”

“No.”

Her gaze dropped.

The colour rose in her cheeks as she realised what had happened. Her scent changed again, warmer and sweeter than before.

She slowly lifted her eyes to mine.

The lodge was suddenly much too far away.

Chapter 5

Robyn

The lodge was beautiful. I barely noticed any of it because the injured alien on the sofa was beginning to turn to stone again.

Sten sat close to the fire with his left wing supported by several cushions. The fingers of his injured side were darker than the rest of his skin, and they didn’t move when he tried to bend them.

I was less than four feet away. It should have been close enough. Georgie had said that for her and Cairn, it had only happened when they’d been a hundred or so feet away from each other.

“Any numbness?” I asked.

“Yes.”
