Off the Edge

I touched his face, laid my hand on his cheek, and his hand tightened, going faster, pumping with slick fingers. I wasn’t taking my gaze off his. If he looked away, that was fine, but he hadn’t yet.

His lips parted. His breathing came fast now. His hips moved, the both of us working together. It was messy and hot and so fucking perfect. I wanted to wait, to hold on, but he’d already almost tipped me over the edge several times, and I was just a fucking guy who needed this. I held his gaze still, breathing hard now too. He wasn’t slowing. His dick slid over mine, his fingers tightened, delivering delicious friction, and I stuttered, finally coming. He didn’t stop, didn’t look away. He watched me come, pumped himself, jerked, fucking his hand and my sensitive dick, now slicker, messier with my cum.

Ren’s lashes fluttered, but he didn’t close his eyes, almost as though he refused to. He jerked hard, thrusting deep into his hand and against me, and he came, moaning, jolting, eyes locked on mine. It was the hottest fucking thing I’d ever done.

He’d needed this.

We both had.

But he’d really needed it.

Maybe he hadn’t had anyone for nineteen months either.

We came down together, breathing fast, wrecked. He bowed his head and kissed me slower now. Lips soft, less frantic and demanding.

I grinned inside the kiss, making him pull back, eyebrows going up. “What?”

“That’s the fastest anyone has gotten me naked. What was it, like . . . five minutes?”

He smiled and buried his face in my neck. “Less.”

Yeah, we’d gotten down to it pretty quick, and hadn’t stopped for air. But reality was trying to make itself known. The late-afternoon light was fading outside, snow still falling. We both had appointments we should probably have been on our way to.

His mouth moved down my neck again, teeth dragging over my left pec, tongue swirling.

I closed my eyes and let it happen, with one hand gently resting in his hair, the other thrown back. Surrendering. “Yeah, baby, take me apart piece by piece.”

I must have said it aloud because he paused, then carried on. It was the “baby” that did it. I wasn’t sure if he liked it or hated it, or was just getting used to it. It didn’t fit him, which was why it worked.

I couldn’t be here, in broad daylight, the day before the rhythm dance, letting Ren’s tongue go to town on me, but in that moment, I didn’t care. I’d missed this too much to put a stop to it. Besides, he would stop soon. Until then, Ren was all mine.

NINETEEN

REN

We were a mess. It was wrong. Wrong place, wrong time, wrong everything. But it felt so right, like nothing had felt right in days, weeks, months even. So, I kept going. I kept the thoughts about what I should and shouldn’t do buried beneath the thoughts of how good Cam tasted, how warm his skin was under my tongue. How firm between my teeth. I listened to him moan, felt him writhe, watched his lashes flutter closed and his lips part. His body was a symphony of pleasure, and I was the conductor. Perhaps it was just sex, just need, or even desperation on my part, but it felt like so much more.

I hadn’t been with anyone since him. The opportunity had never come around, and I didn’t want to after everything about him had stayed so fresh in my mind. Now, here he was, trembling under my hands and my mouth and the kisses I left on his skin. I remembered the shape of his waist under my palms, the firm rock of his hips as my fingers stroked over them. The play of his muscles when he moved.

If there was ever a man whose body I knew better than my own, it was Camden’s. Yet I wanted to know more. All those months apart, and I felt like a stranger coming home to an empty house. Everything was familiar, I just needed to remember my place in it.

He was so beautiful, his head thrown back, hair fluffy and in disarray, lips plump and pouting, lashes long and golden. I always had to find him in a room, to admire him, that was part of the problem. But I wasn’t thinking about problems.

Just thinking about him.

I pushed my free hand down, under his thigh, and hitched his leg over my shoulder, now that I was low enough on his body and his legs were free of his trousers. His dick had softened, but not fully, the mess we’d made evident on his lower abs. I licked at it, then licked at him.

“Holy shit.” He blinked, chin to his chest, peering down. “This is a conspiracy, isn’t it? You’re doing this now so I’ll fuck up on the ice tomorrow?”

He didn’t really think that, did he?

“Stop.” He snorted a laugh. “Your face.”

“My face?”

“I don’t really think you’re fucking me to mess up my dance tomorrow.” He snorted. “You’re terrible at hiding your expressions when you’re naked.”

I laughed and buried my face in his hip. “Why being naked should affect my facial expressions, I have no idea,” I mumbled against his skin.
