“Why are we talking about your mother when we could be fucking?” she asked, giving me an impatient look.

I brought my hands to her waist, intending to change positions, but she batted them away.

“Let me take the lead.”

Violet

Robbie’s eyes flew to mine as we both remembered the last time I’d said those words.

Twenty-two years ago...

“I want you, Robbie. Let’s not wait any longer.”

I’d been dating Robbie for three months now and even though we’d run all the bases, so to speak, we still hadn’t gotten to home plate. Oh, we’d done everything but have sex, including multiple sessions of oral gratification and one memorable night when we’d watched each other masturbate. But as much as I’d seen that monster in Robbie’s pants, I hadn’t felt it inside me yet. He kept insisting that we take things slow.

Robbie pushed himself up on the bed, leaning against the headboard while I tried not to stare at his muscular physique.

“I have something to tell you first.”

I studied his face as I watched a flush rise up his cheeks. He seemed embarrassed.

“What?”

When he didn’t answer I guessed, “You have another girlfriend? You have a venereal disease? You’re entering the priesthood?”

One corner of his mouth lifted, but he didn’t laugh like I’d expected.

“I’ve never, um, I’ve never come inside a woman.”

I frowned in confusion. “What are you saying? You have performance issues?”

His face turned even redder.

“I’m a virgin,” he mumbled.

I must have misheard him. “What?”

“I’m a virgin,” he repeated a little bit louder. “Technically.”

I sat back on his hips and stared at him at him in shock.

“You’re a virgin?”

He nodded.

“Are you fucking with me right now?”

“Why would I lie about something like this Violet? Telling you that I’m a nineteen-year-old virgin is embarrassing as hell. I just thought you should know. In case I’m not good at it or something.”

I was completely flummoxed.

“How can you be a virgin? You’re a hot football player.”

He shrugged. “It’s just never seemed like the right time before.”

I scooted up to straddle his lap. Taking his face between my hands, I pressed a quick kiss to his lips.
