I’m fully aware of him. The hard muscles of his body pressed against mine; the way his beard scratches against my chin is a sensation I had no idea I’d like.
A growl slips from him, vibrating down my throat, and I break the kiss, taking a step back. The sound reminded me I’m kissing a vampire, and I need to check in with myself.
His eyes are neon red. His fangs show. With every puff of breath, a growl escapes him.
Alaska jerks his head away. “Sorry. I’m…sorry. You make me have…so many urges, and it’s hard to control.” He flexes his hands, and long claws pinch against his palm.
I step forward, breathing again, sane again, and I realize what I have right in front of me. Standing on my tiptoes, I hesitate for a second, and so does he, our lips centimeters away from one another. Our breaths are unstable, just like everything else between us.
“I can’t get enough,” he whispers it like it’s a curse, a swear, a force he can’t compete with. “My heart is pounding.” He grabs my hand, placing it on his chest.
I swallow, my back hitting the wall. That’s when I realize Alaska has been walking us backwards. I didn’t even realize. I’m too focused on his mouth, the way his lips move, the way his fangs poke out, the way he speaks.
I’m enthralled.
Taking his other hand, I press it against my chest, wanting him to feel how fast my own heart is beating.
“I can hear it too.” He licks his perfect, pink, swollen lips that I want on me again. “It’s racing, Honeybee. Do I make you nervous?” He tilts his head, ghosting his lips over mine.
The phantom kiss he gives me has me inhaling and leaning forward, needing more of him.
“Yes,” I admit. “You make me more nervous than I’ve ever been in my entire life. Flying an airplane is easier than you.” A pathetic chuckle sounds more like a hiccup, and I glance down at his black boots that are covered in dust.
His nose brushes against mine. “You make me nervous too.” He crowds me, pressing the entire front of his body against mine.
And I can feel everything.
A raging heat sizzles my skin, a light sweat breaking out over my entire body.
“I don’t know what to do with you,” he admits, brushing my curls back with his fingers, and I follow his hand for more of his touch, needy for him to not let me go.
“I don’t know what to do with you either.” I rest my hands on his hips, wanting to pull him against me to feel what his cock feels like against mine.
But I don’t.
I’m too fucking nervous.
His finger lifts my chin, the fire in his eyes burning, and he inches forward. “I know one thing I want to do, though.” His words puff against my mouth the closer he leans in.
I slide my hands up his torso, his abs rippling under me, pressing my palms against his pecs for support. “Did you know the first ever recorded kiss dates back to 1500 B.C.?”
You fucking idiot.
“Is that so?” He grins, finding me humorous at least.
I nod, my hands exploring his body by swooping to his back. God, he feels so good.
His lips are about to press against mine at last. Alaska palms the side of my head, his thumb dragging along my jaw. “This okay?”
“Yes,” I admit in a breathy whisper.
“I can’t wait a second longer.”
“Then, don’t.”
On another primal growl that has an embarrassing whimper tickling my throat, Alaska finally gifts me his kiss again. This time, he moves more confidently, controlling every motion with his hand.
His tongue tests me, a slight, gentle swipe across my own. I fist his shirt, groaning, wanting more of the tease he just gave me.
