I played dumb. “So, you playing her side chick?”

“Fuck you. She ain’t got to explain shit to you. You’re more familiar with fucking at work. We sleep, live, and work here. We have needs, too,” Owens said, defending her actions.

“Yeah, well, hopefully no one tells your nigga you’re being a carpet muncher.” I shrugged.

“You’re jealous. You wish Justice would give you a taste. Don’t you.” She smirked at me.

Before I could control my temper, I had Owens pinned against the wall as I cuffed her. I whispered in her ear, “Tell your girl goodbye. You’re going to the hole for the night, then you’ll be transferred to another wing.”

Both of them were yelling that I couldn’t do that, but I wasn’t listening. Justice had me fucked up. She denied me what she had just freely given to a bitch. I wasn’t losing like this.

I radioed Cambridge for backup. When he arrived, he laughed, then took Owens to the hole as I had instructed. This was my house, and I was about to let Justice Kingsley know it.

When it was just her and me, I stalked toward her.

“It didn’t have to be this way. I could’ve shared, but real shit. I want you.” I walked closer to her. “I want you in every way possible. I want you in here and after your release. Is that so wrong?” When I reached her, I placed my hand down her pants. I started massaging her clit.

She reached to grab my vest. “But,” she paused for a moment before moaning in my ear, “mmmm.”

“But nothing. Let me take care of you,” I angled my hand to slip one finger into her wetness. She was making a fucking mess.

“I promise I won’t do anything to get you stepped back, and if this relationship grows into something more, at least you know I’ll be there for you outside of here.”

At that point, she was no longer responding verbally. I inserted a second finger and slowly kissed down her neck as I pressed myself against her.

“You gon’ let me make you feel good, sweets?” I asked as I planted lazy kisses along her neck. I turned her around so she leaned slightly against the metal sink in her cell.

“Fuck, Legend. Hurry up,” she said quickly. I knew she was nervous, scared, and excited, all at once. I could tell by her voice.

I gave her ass a hard slap, and she hissed.

“You can’t rush me. Now that I have you in this position, I wanna take my time. I’ve been dreaming about this for the past two years. Sit back and enjoy the ride, Sweetness.”

I pulled her pants down and slowly started to kiss her back down to her ass. She took her right hand and dragged it to the front of her. She placed her hand on her pussy and started to play with herself. The wetness from her was leaking down her fingers as she slowly circled her clit. I lowered myself to a position so that my head was between her legs, buried in her pussy. I wasted no time before I started to taste her sweet nectar on my tongue. She tasted so good I fucked her with my tongue for hours. I made her cum apart three times before I allowed her to rest.

Before leaving her to process everything, I told her that next time I’d make her feel amazing in every way. I told her I’d make her fall in love with me. I wasn’t being cocky. I just knew the kind of charm I had.

She was lucky I didn’t have a condom on hand. I would’ve fucked that pussy out the frame.

CHAPTER 7

Justice

JULY 16, 2025

Life inside prison had become so routine that sometimes I had to remind myself there had been a life before it, but after being in there so long, it feels like a foreign thought.

My days seemed to melt into one another until weeks turned into months and months into years. I found it hard to hold on to the feeling of freedom. Sometimes I’d close my eyes and imagine walking into a store and choosing whatever I liked, no questions asked. I tried to recall what it was like to sleep in a room all alone. I often wondered how it would feel to wake up when I was truly ready, instead of being awakened by someone shouting that it was time for count.

Those things used to be normal, but now they sounded like luxuries I wanted. Naw, scratch that. They sounded like luxuries I needed, expeditiously. The only thing keeping me sane was knowing I had more time behind me than ahead. I’d serve my fifth year this October, and based on my sentence, I have two more to serve.

Knowing that and having Officer Legend helped me be in better spirits. Whenever we had the chance, we talked about the life awaiting us outside. Legend knew every version of me.

I didn’t even remember the innocent, timid version of myself. She felt like someone I’d known in another lifetime. Whenever I talked to my sister or my best friend on the phone, one of them would say I sounded different.

My morning began like any other as I happily reorganized the returned books in the library. Soon after, I noticed an officer stopping by outside the library.

“Kingsley.”
