“A month.” Sitting back, I put my hand flat between his shoulder blades. “You told me to get on a ship, leave you here for a month and go enjoy myself without you.”

Crack.

My hand comes down across his ass, making him shout into the mattress and jerk forward, dragging himself against my cock and making it worse for both of us.

“You’re a bad puppy.”

“I didn’t mean I wanted you gone. I meant you should go if you wanted to. Seren invited you, and I wasn’t going to be the husband who tells you that you can’t.”

“But you said it.” Pouring more oil into my palm, I rub it over the mark I’ve left, soothing the heat in small circles until he moans and pushes back into my hand. “Good puppies follow their masters. They don’t hand them a month off.”

“Ash, I was trying to do something nice for you.”

“Then say it again. Go on. Tell me to go enjoy myself.”

“Please.” He turns his face sideways on the sheet, eyes wet, mouth open. “Please, I can’t take any more of this. Please just fuck me.”

“Fuck you.” I drag myself against him, slick and slow, making him keen. “Just like that? After what you said?”

“Please.”

“No, puppy. Not yet.” Leaning down, I take the collar at the back of his neck between two fingers and pull, just enough for him to feel it. “First I want to hear you say you won’t let me go anywhere on my own.”

“I won’t. I’ll come with you.”

“That’s better.”

“Wherever you go, I’ll be there. Seren’s, anywhere. I’ll come with you.”

“Or do I collar you properly?” I put my mouth against his ear. “Would that be easier? Have you crawl up the ramp of that ship on your hands and knees with a lead on you?”

He makes a noise like he’s been shot.

“What do you think the guards would say?”

Crack.

He wails, and I soothe it straight away, easing the heat with my palm until his hips start moving against the sheets and my name is all he can manage.

“No, that’s not how this works.”

“Ash, please. I’m begging you. I’ll say anything.”

“Say you’re mine.”

“I’m yours.”

“Whose?”

“Yours.”

“Good.” Keeping my grip on the collar, I stroke my thumb beneath it. “So. What do we think about Seren’s, puppy?”

“I don’t want you to go without me. I want you to see him, but I want to come too. And Onyx and Ryven. All of us together. Not you on a ship on your own for a month.”

“There’s my stormbird.”

Clipping the lead to the ring at his throat, I line myself up and push in.
