“Have you got the rings, Breaker? She already threw that at me,” I say with a grin.

“What? No, I don’t have them.” Breaker frowns at me.

“Don’t yank my chain, bro. My heart won’t stand it today.” I give him a squint-eye stare, and he doesn’t even blink.

“I don’t have them, but I know a man who does.”

“What the hell does that mean? Don’t make me lose it in a church.” I can feel my temper rising.

He gives a whistle, and I look towards the main doors. From one of the back pews, I see two figures rise, one male, one female. They enter the aisle and walk towards us. As they get closer, I recognize Mateo, but the woman with him I don’t…Wait a minute.

Seeing Spirit in a dress, her hair all done fancy, and with makeup on, I just stand and gawk this time. She blushes at my open-mouthed stare.

“You’d think you’d never seen a woman before,” she states, still blushing.

“So, this is how things are going to happen,” Breaker butts in. “I’ll walk Jamie down the aisle, Molly will be her chief-bridesmaid. Spirit will be a bridesmaid and ring bearer, while Mateo will act as your best man. Now, Molly is waving her ass off at the doors, so Jamie is ready and waiting. Where’s the minister?”

As if by magic, the minister appears and has changed from his suit to some form of formal regalia.

“I was told to get smartened up by a young lady, and she was quite persuasive with her tone.” He looks almost frightened, and we can guess he has been spoken to by Molly.

Mateo takes his place by me, and that’s when I notice his pale blue jeans, white shirt, cut, and bolo tie. I have to admit, we look damn smart for a couple of bikers.

“If your best man speech makes fun of me or paints me in a bad light in any way, you’ll live to regret it. Though you won’t have long to live.” I give him my best ‘smiling tiger’ smile and watch for his reaction.

“Speech? What speech? Breaker said nothing about a speech. I haven’t got a speech.” Mateo’s voice is rising in panic.

“Well, in that case, you have nothing to worry about, have you?” I slap him on the shoulder, and as I do, the wedding march sounds from somewhere in the pews.

A vision appears through the doors, and I don’t mean Breaker. The beautiful woman he is escorting takes my breath away. Jamie is dressed in the same colors as Mateo and I, but in a dress that screams ‘look at me’.

Her hair is piled high, her neck and shoulders are bare. There is a white ruffled top that shows a small amount of cleavage but is sexy as hell. The white top leads to a tight, long, pale blue skirt that accentuates her curves, and my first thought, typical of a man, is how does she walk in that thing? My second thought? Yep. How quickly will I be able to get it off her! Molly and Spirit walk behind her, but I only have eyes for my gorgeous woman.

When they reach me, Breaker hands her over in a very ceremonial fashion and then steps away. The minister takes over, and I stand before Jamie in a daze. Mateo gives me a nudge to take the ring from the minister and again when I don’t say I do at the right time.

Ceremony over and at the church doors, there’s a photographer waiting to take some photographs. Obviously another Molly touch. When that’s done, they say their goodbyes, and we head back to the hotel. Arriving there, we are told that our things had been moved to the bridal suite and champagne was on ice awaiting our arrival. When I question the change of rooms, I’m told it was compliments of the best man.

Once in the room, my cut goes on the back of a chair, but the rest of my clothes stay where they land. I can’t tell you how long it took to get Jamie out of that skirt because she was naked and in bed before me.

Chapter 33

*~* Fury *~*

Inever dreamed that married life could be so good. It’s like having your cake, eating it, and then the ingredients magically appear all over again! Jamie and I talked about having a family, and we decided that as we were still going at it like rabbits, her expression, the likelihood of contraception failing was high, so we’ve ditched it.

I’ve spoken with Pres about having a plot in the compound and he’s okay with it. Guardrail is going to speak with me and Jamie to get the plans drawn up. I’m going to leave most of it to Jamie as she’ll be the one spending the most time there. I don’t mean that to be my Neanderthal speaking, but I need to get myself to work and support my family.

I can help out at any of the club’s businesses, but I’m not what you’d call qualified for any of them. I mean, yes, I can labor in construction and at the storage facility. I can sweep the barbershop floor and I can do very basic mechanic stuff. There’s probably some muscle needed in roadside recovery, but none of the businesses hold any interest for me. Maybe I need to find something to get my teeth into and make my own. Wow, listen to me wanting to be all white-collar.

Jamie has a good income, but we’re not sure what that will look like once she starts making babies. Pretty much all of my dollars will be eaten up by the house construction, I’m sure. I’m good with that, but I don’t like the idea of having nothing to fall back on.

I haven’t seen much of Mateo since we got back from the wedding. He did a fine job as my best man, and although I said thank you, I don’t feel it conveyed just how grateful I was. He pulled me back to earth at some critical points in the ceremony, I know that. Mateo and Spirit certainly looked good together as well. They looked comfortable and relaxed, which may sound old-fashioned or outdated, but if I were either of their parents, I’d be happy to see that.

Mateo is the perfect gentleman around her, and when he brought her to the clubhouse to introduce her, he was attentive and sensed when she was being overwhelmed by all the brothers. He quickly took control and asked the guys to give them some space. When all of us get together, our welcome can be a little much for someone who has spent so much time alone.

Ghost told me that Mateo went to see Thorn personally and told him he was hoping to have more than a friendship with Spirit when the time was right. Apparently, to Thorn’s credit, he sucked it up and gave them his blessing. Ghost is very proud of his son’s actions, and they seem to be back on an even keel with their relationship.

I’m heading over to the clubhouse this morning to spend a couple of hours catching up on things. Hopefully Mateo will be around and I’ll get to say thank you again. Maybe ask how he’s getting on with Spirit and the boys. That darn Malinois sure loves him and hates me with equal passion. I’m convinced he wouldn’t think twice about taking me on. Without one of Jamie’s shotguns, I wouldn’t fancy my chances either. That thing moves like a ballistic missile when it wants to, and those teeth would probably do as much damage.
