“Multiple exits that aren't actually exits,” I suggest.
Kosta nodded. “I know two places.”
Roman looked at him. “Find a third.” Kosta dipped his head.
I traced one route across the map. “We feed Ceasar something he can't ignore.”
“What?” Lucien asked.
I thought about it, then smiled. “Us.”
Draugr looked at me. “No.”
I laughed. “Not me.”
“Good.”
“She'd kill you before Ceasar got the chance,” Lucien said.
True. I pointed to the eastern estate. “We make Ceasar believe we're moving the families.”
Roman's expression changed immediately. “No.”
“Not actually.”
“Still no.” I held his gaze.
“We create movement. Convoys. Guards. Supply records. Make it look like we've decided the mansion isn't safe.” Understanding slowly replaced anger.
“Ceasar thinks we're vulnerable.”
“Yes.”
“And Xion sends demons to hit the convoy.”
Volken nodded. “While the real families remain here.”
“Behind everything we have.”
Draugr's pale eyes sharpened. “Then we close the trap.”
Kosta added, “If the leaks are timed correctly, Xion may already be dealing with internal resistance.”
Lucien looked almost delighted. “So he sends fewer demons.”
“Or desperate ones,” Roman confirms.
“Either works,” I replied.
Roman stared at the map for a long time, then nodded. “We build it.”
That simple, six months of war and finally, a fucking plan. It’s not revenge or rage, it’s a plan. Ceasar and Xion would come. We would strip them apart until they had nowhere else to stand. Then we'd end it. Not tonight in some suicidal charge through a warehouse but when the time was right on our ground, our terms.
I should have stayed for another hour, there was more to discuss but Instead I looked at the clock.
Roman noticed. “Go.”
Lucien smirked. “Curfew?”
