“Yes, I was,” I murmur, dropping my lips to her neck. “I’m into everything you ask me for.”

She whimpers and arches under me, giving me access to more of her skin. I could definitely stay in this bed forever.

But then her stomach rumbles again, even louder this time. And I climb off of her with a soft laugh.

“Come on,” I say, extending a hand to her. “Let me feed you. Then we can figure out our plans for the day.”

She doesn’t take my hand, just sits up, holding the sheet to her chest as she looks around. For her clothes, I assume.

Reading the situation, I ask her, “Do you need a minute?”

She nods, so I walk over to my dresser and pull out a pair of athletic shorts. When I turn to tell her that I’ll meet her in the kitchen, I catch her gawking at my ass.

“Now who’s the horndog?” I ask with a grin. When her mortified gaze snaps to my face, I only laugh and leave the room.

It takes her ten minutes to walk out of my bedroom. She pulled on one of my t-shirts, and the sight of her naked, save for my clothes, is almost enough to make me drag her back to bed.

But then her eyes land on Milton, where he’s perched on the counter beside me, waiting patiently for the eggs I’m working in the skillet, and a smile takes up her entire face.

“Hello, my love,” she coos, rushing over to pet him. Just once, though, because it’s Milton and Your Highness has his limits.

“My love, huh? That sounds cute, coming from you.”

She quirks an eyebrow at me, sneaking in one last pet. “It’s reserved for Milton. Don’t think I’m going to start using endearments with you.”

Leaning her hip against the counter, she crosses her arms and takes in the sight of us. Me cooking, and Milton waiting to be waited on.

“You two seem cozy,” she says with a chuckle.

I pluck a small piece of egg from the skillet, blow on it, then extend it to Milton. “We have an understanding.”

“That he demands and you obey?”

“Basically, yeah.”

I turn toward where Charli has dissolved into giggles, a delighted grin on my face. After plating the omelet, I gesture for her to take a seat.

“So,” I start, grabbing the toast and swiping some butter on it. “What do you want to do today?”

She sends me a grateful smile before digging into the meal. I try to remember if I’ve ever been so excited to cook for someone.

“What do you have to do today?” she asks after a bite. “Your schedule is the crazy one.”

“Yes, but I’ve decided I’m taking the entire weekend off.”

Her eyebrows shoot up her forehead, the fork pausing on its way to her mouth. “Uh, are you sick?”

I narrow my eyes at her. “Um, excuse me, but I took a whole weekend off after the first night you came here.”

She points her fork at me. “You took one day. And then spent Sunday working.”

I bite the food off her fork. “Only because someone was freaked out that she enjoyed spending time with me, and holed up in her room,” I say around the mouthful of egg.

Charli’s face flames red at that. Damn. Will I ever get over the sight of her blushing?

“I didn’t— I wasn’t—” She finally rolls her eyes. “Whatever. Back to today. Why are you taking the weekend off? I thought Bryan was working you to the bone.”

I lean both hands on the counter in front of her as I shake my head. “I’m just sick of the grind. I want a weekend off. And I’d like to spend it with you. So I ask again…” Leaning forward, I steal the toast off her plate. “What do you want to do today?”
