“Want me to pick you up in the morning? Or is SGD going to drop you off?” Kirsten asked.
What on Earth was SGD? She racked her brain, but she couldn’t figure it out.
“SGD?” she finally asked her friend.
“Sexy. Grumpy. Daddy,” Kirsten told her.
Oh, good Lord. She was talking about Ammo. Aimee could feel her cheeks growing red. It reminded her of the question he’d asked her earlier.
The one she still didn’t know the answer to.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to ask him.”
“Why not? Has he done something? Has he hurt you? Do you need me to come round there and teach him a lesson? I will, you know.”
While it would be amusing to see small Kirsten try to teach Ammo a lesson, that wasn’t what she needed right now.
And he certainly hadn’t hurt her.
“No, no. He hasn’t hurt me! He’s always looking after me. But, he, uh, earlier he asked me if I was a Little, all right? I freaked out because I didn’t know how to answer him, and now I’m hiding in the bedroom.”
There was a beat of silence.
“Oh, Aimee.”
“Yeah, I know. I’m ridiculous. I know I’m ridiculous. I can’t help it, but I don’t know what to do, and I’m not really ready to face him.”
“So in other words, you want me to pick you up in the morning?”
“Yeah, that’d be good. Thanks.”
“Aimee, you don’t have to be ashamed of who you are. You should just own it. Accept it. And I reckon if anyone’s going to understand it, then it’s him. I mean, his instincts were right.”
“Were they?”
“Come on, we both know that you’re a Little. You’re just in denial because you think you should be ashamed or some such shit. But you shouldn’t feel ashamed of who you are and what you need. Charlie never put you first. He didn’t treat you right. If this guy does, then maybe you should grab hold.”
“He’s not going to be around forever, Kirsten,” she reminded her friend.
“Neither are you,” Kirsten said quietly.
It made her heart hurt, thinking about leaving her friend.
“I might stay,” she said. But they both knew she wouldn’t.
“You won’t. And you shouldn’t. You should leave this place. Run away. You were never meant to live in Greasy Knob and you know it. And I didn’t mean you had to marry this guy. Just let him show you what it’s like to be with a real man. And maybe a real Daddy.”
She sucked in a breath at that thought. What would it be like to be with Ammo?
“It doesn’t mean he wants me. Or to Daddy me. If he’s even a Daddy Dom.”
How did you know for sure? It wasn’t like she’d ever met one, that she knew of anyway.
“You’re never going to know unless you try. But you’ve got to do what’s right for you. I just want you to be happy, all right? If you change your mind about working tomorrow, I’ll understand.”
“I won’t. I need to keep busy. And I need the money.”
“I wish I could help you out,” Kirsten said. “If I hadn’t expanded so much recently, I would have had plenty of money saved.”
