Of course, we didn’t find out until a couple weeks later that Kent’s brother had gotten away. Motherfucker had slipped from Kent’s compound during the chaos unseen.
Cash, the hacker for Sovereign Sanctum, another crew similar to ours down in Moonlit Ridge, and one of our closest confidants and friends, had discovered Shayne Ellison wasn’t a part of the body count and sent us the warning.
My phone buzzed in my hand, and I tipped my attention to the returned text.

Woman so fucking gorgeous, wearing that dress. Legs bare as I’d massaged the back of her thigh. Worst was the way the tremulous breath had slipped from between her plush lips while I did. Way her eyes had gone dark and the oxygen in the air had nearly caught fire.
Same way as it’d done two minutes ago inside her apartment.
I did not need to be thinking about her figure. This was no time for distractions.
Me
Are you serious? You don’t know what it is, look it up.
Brody didn’t have time to respond before another text came in from Silas.
Silas
Details.
I paced the other direction, contemplating, trying to put a pin on what was going down.
