The soft brush of lips across his knuckles pulled him from his spiraling thoughts. Fee kissed each finger where it gripped the wheel until he slowly loosened his hold. She was practically sitting in his lap when she finished, so he pulled her to him, seating her between his body and the wheel. She dropped another kiss on his lips.
“What do you want to do?” she asked softly, giving him an out if he wanted to take it.
“I want to stop being useless.” His voice was rough with emotion and the truth.
“You’ve never been useless.”
Theo groaned.
Fee’s comforting voice wrapped around him just like her thighs around his hips. “You can do this.” Another soft kiss across the line of his scar. Theo shivered. Fee pulled away, her amber gaze finding his. “They’re your family, Theo. And they were under your father’s control just as much as you were.”
He clung to that thought. He knew it, of course. His mother had said so months ago. She was the only one he’d seen since he left. She had apologized more times than he cared to remember. They’d been just as brainwashed to follow their Alpha as he had been. Just as afraid to defy him. That was what she’d told him. But it was hard to believe at the time, and it still was.
It all still hurt too much.
But Fee’s warm body in his lap helped. After this thing with Lena was settled, he was going to tell her, confess everything he felt for this woman. Claim her, beg her to claim him in return. He’d get on his knees for her every day until she agreed. Heat rushed through his veins at the thought. It wouldn’t be a hardship.
Fee’s eyes narrowed. “Theo, are you kidding me right now?” she asked, gesturing at the erection straining against the front of his jeans.
He grinned. “Can’t help it with this tight little ass of yours wriggling in my lap.” He reached around and squeezed said ass. “I think this trial period is going really well so far.”
Phoebe smacked him playfully on the arm even as her cheeks pinkened. “I was trying to comfort you.”
“And it worked. I feel very comfortable.” He lifted his hips just a little to nudge against her core.
“Now is not the time!” she said in mock outrage, even as she smiled, her eyes going dark.
“I disagree. Now seems like the perfect time. It will calm me down before I have to face everyone. Don’t you want me to be calm, Fee? Cool-headed for this little mission?”
He reached between them, slipping a hand into her pants. He found her panties already wet for him. His heartbeat kicked up. Not calm at all. Not cool but burning hot for this woman.
He slid a finger inside the damp fabric and stroked into her slickness. Her breathy gasp skated across his skin as she leaned forward.
“Shit, Theo,” she sighed. “Mmm … I like that.”
Theo chuckled. “Of course you do.”
He stroked her until she writhed in his lap, her breath shallow and ragged. The windows had fogged up around them, cocooning them in their own little world.
“Mmm,” Phoebe purred, moving against him. She had him trapped in the confines of the seat, her legs on either side, her hips torturing him with their movement, her hands tugging on his curls.
He couldn’t move, couldn’t thrust against her. He was caught by this tiny creature, and it was perfect.
“Christ, Fee,” he groaned.
He could feel her smile against his neck where she buried her face. She picked up her pace, rolling against him.
“As soon as we find Lena, I’m getting you into bed.”
“Is that the next part of the trial period?” she asked with a grin.
Theo took a deep breath, his hands steady on Phoebe’s hips. He wanted so much more than a trial period.
“Fee—”
A bang on the window next to his head. A fist. A face.
His goddamn brother’s face.
