“Is it?”
His gaze travels over me, starting with my bare legs and ending at his shirt.
His throat moves. Even more interesting.
“Barely.”
I point toward the rower. “Do you always punish yourself before breakfast?”
“Do you always wander around my apartment without pants?”
I look down and shrug. “I don’t remember you giving me pants before you put me in your bed last night.”
His eyes squeeze closed and he looks up mumbling. I don’t know if he’s praying or talking to himself. Either way I’m slightly amused.
“What do you remember about last night?” He asks the ceiling.
“More than I would like to.” I lean against the doorframe crossing my arms over my chest.
His eyes open again and he watches me cautiously.
“You know, for someone with your reputation, you’re surprisingly difficult.”
He grabs the towel beside him and drags it over his face. “My reputation?”
I should stop. Hungover Delaney has apparently misplaced that skill but at least I don’t bring up his out of town rule. “What’s a girl gotta do to get laid around here?”
The towel stops and Bishop lowers it very slowly.
“Excuse me?”
I smile sweetly. “Do you have any single teammates?”
“No.” The answer comes so fast I laugh.
“You didn’t even think about it.”
“Didn’t need to.”
“Statistically, that seems unlikely.”
“They’re all married.”
“What about Mercer?” I tease but would never, knowing there is something there with Avery: girl code and all.
“Your brother would kill him.”
“Hmmm. What about Jax? He has that whole sexy single daddy thing going on.” I snap. “Ooooh, and you know how I love saying daddy.”
I laugh, and Bishop scowls.
“Deacon?”
“Too young.”
“I’m twenty-two.”
“Exactly.”
