Then Trish’s voice returns, sharper this time. “You did not just tell me to fuck off.”

A laugh bursts out of me, but Leon’s hips shift beneath mine, turning the sound into a gasp.

Oh god.

“Yes,” I breathe before I can stop myself.

The look on his face says I can stop if I want to. It also says he really hopes I don’t.

That should not make me hotter.

It does.

After that, things get messy.

Fogged windows. Tangled limbs. The blanket sliding somewhere useless. Leon’s hands on my hips. My mouth against his shoulder because Trish is still very much on the radio and I have at least one shred of dignity left to protect.

Maybe half a shred.

The next few minutes are not graceful. They are not quiet. They are definitely not something I will ever admit happened while Trish threatened us over the radio.

I bite his shoulder, just enough to make him shudder beneath me. His hands flex, and something low in my belly goes molten.

His grip tightens.

Oh.

He likes that.

A lot.

The wicked little smile that spreads across my mouth is probably dangerous.

Whatever restraint he had left does not survive it.

By the time the truck finally goes still again, I’m breathless, flushed, and pressed against his neck with my teeth marks blooming on his shoulder like evidence.

For a while, neither of us moves.

The only sounds are our uneven breathing, the faint tick of the truck cooling, and Trish’s voice eventually muttering through the radio, “I’m giving you five minutes. Then I’m sending Edith.”

My eyes fly open.

Leon’s shoulders shake beneath me in silent laughter.

“Oh my god,” I whisper, smacking his chest. “We are going to die of embarrassment before the undead get us.”

He kisses my temple, obviously feeling zero remorse. None. Not a single drop.

We get dressed in a rush after that, which is much less sexy when my shirt is inside out, my hair is a disaster, and Leon has a bite mark on his shoulder that makes my entire body heat all over again when I see it.

He catches me looking.

Smirks.

I point at him. “Don’t.”

He lifts both hands like an innocent man.
