“What?”

He shakes his head. “Nothing.”

I hold my hand toward him. “Come on.”

“No.”

Michael reaches for his wrist. Joshua jerks away, but he’s laughing now.

“You two are fucking idiots.”

The pack house doors open before either of us can answer. Wolves begin pouring outside as word spreads that the immediate threat is contained, and my eyes move over the crowd, searching.

Arlene.

I find her almost immediately. Darlene is in her arms with Teddy tucked against her chest. Damian stands beside her holding Arlene’s phone. My mate is wearing sunglasses indoors.

I tilt my head.

She smiles.

I’ll ask later.

Damian sees me. “Daddy!”

Everything inside me settles.

Arlene lowers Darlene, and both pups run toward me. I crouch just before they hit me together. Pain explodes through half the injuries currently healing across my body, but I don’t give a damn. I wrap both arms around them.

“My pups.”

“You’re bloody,” Damian says.

“Some of it’s mine.”

Arlene reaches us, and her eyes travel over me from head to toe. “Some?”

“Most of it isn’t.”

“That was not reassuring.”

I grin as she touches my face. My wolf presses forward inside me. Mate. She’s safe. They’re safe.

A few feet away, Jasmin reaches Joshua and wraps her arms around him. Jace and little Jocelyn rush toward their father moments later, and Joshua bends to gather both pups against him. Paige hurries toward Michael, and he catches his mate against his chest.

For a moment, the whole world feels lighter.

Jasmin eventually pulls back from Joshua, and her gaze moves from her mate to Michael and finally to me. All three of us are bloody, filthy, injured and apparently still grinning like idiots.

“Now this is a scene I like seeing.”

Joshua looks at his mate. “Which part? The blood?”

“The three of you.”

Footsteps approach from the side of the pack house. Rylan comes around the building with his shirt torn and blood streaked across one arm. Not his blood. Justin is beside him, looking almost as rough as the rest of us. Dirt and blood cover his clothes, and a fresh scratch runs down his forearm.

Jasmin’s eyes immediately sweep over her eldest son. Relief flashes across her face when she sees him standing beside his Alpha.
