I don't know which of them is reassuring the other anymore.

RYLAN'S POV

Selena cries out again. The contractions are closer now. Too close. I feel every one of them through our bond, and our daughter isn't waiting for a hospital room, a healer, or her fucking due date.

She's coming.

"Not yet, little one."

Selena lets out a breathless sound that might have been a laugh if she weren't hurting. "I don't think she's listening to you."

"She should. I'm her Alpha."

"I'm pretty sure she doesn't care."

Another contraction steals whatever else she was going to say. I hold her tighter and keep running.

"We're almost there."

This time it's true.
