Selena laughs behind us. “She definitely didn't listen, did she?”
“No.”
Arlene looks between us. “Traitors. Both of you.”
I squeeze her hand as another howl sounds ahead of us. This one is much closer.
Selena stops. “Rylan.”
She moves faster before any of us can stop her.
“Selena,” Arlene calls.
We follow her around the next turn and emerge into the lower level of the main camp just as Rylan comes through the opposite passage covered in blood. He freezes. Selena does too. Then they're both moving.
Rylan reaches her and pulls her against him, one arm wrapping around her while his other hand immediately settles protectively over her stomach. He buries his face against her neck and holds her so tightly I don't think anything could pull them apart right now.
“Don't ever fucking do that to me again.”
Selena wraps her arms around him. “I missed you too.” His Lycan growls loudly enough that I hear it from where I'm standing.
Arlene leans against my side. “Think he's mad?”
“He'll survive.”
Rylan pulls back and starts checking Selena from head to toe. “I'm fine,” she tells him.
“You were kidnapped.”
“So was Arlene.”
“And I'm fine too,” Arlene adds.
I look down at her. She sighs. “Mostly.”
My eyes narrow. “Mostly?”
“Later.”
Definitely later. A warrior rushes toward us from the passage Rylan came through. “Alpha, we've taken most of the upper camp. The remaining rogues are retreating.”
Rylan nods before looking back at Selena. “We're leaving.”
For once, she doesn't argue. Good. I wrap my arm around Arlene and keep her against my side as we move toward the surface. Rylan stays just as close to Selena, slowing whenever she needs to slow. Silver Moon warriors fill the passages ahead of us, and the sounds of fighting are beginning to fade.
Arlene squeezes my hand. We're almost out. Almost home. My wolf finally begins to settle.
Then two figures step into the passage ahead of us. Arlene goes still beside me while Selena's hand moves protectively over her stomach. I recognize both of them immediately. Candice and Zeke. They block the only path to the surface.

Arlene’s POV
Candice smiles from the other end of the passage like she hasn't noticed the two furious males standing between her and us. Zeke stands beside her, his attention fixed on Darian. Neither of them looks afraid.
That bothers me.
Darian shifts closer, putting more of his body between me and the end of the tunnel. Rylan does the same with Selena. My wolf pushes beneath my skin, stronger than she was when I woke in that cell, but the poison still burns through my veins. My muscles feel heavy, and my senses aren't as sharp as they should be.
