She’s kissing me. She’s actually kissing me. Her soft lips are pressed against mine. She parts her mouth, tangling our tongues together. I moan softly, holding her head with one hand, pressing her tighter against me, her mouth is soft and unyielding, She grabs my chin tilting my head sideways, eager to explore my mouth, I don’t hesitate, she can do whatever she wants as long as she doesn’t stop, a breathy sigh escapes her, I groan in response, our kiss that started soft, becoming more and more passionate with the second. I pull her tighter against me, afraid she might let go. Fuck she smells so fucking good, and the kiss is the best fucking kiss I’ve ever had. She pulls away, giving me one last kiss, glancing at me with flushed cheeks, her lips so beautifully swollen I can’t help myself and press my lips against them for another short kiss. I lick my bottom lip, and I swear I can still taste her.

“Fuck,” I murmur, resting my forehead against hers. My back aches from the way I’m leaning over her, but I don’t care, as long as she keeps staring at me with that dazed look in her eyes and that big smile on her face. I’ll be fine.

“Fuck,” I breathe again. I have no words. My head is empty. All I can think about is how it felt when her lips touched mine. I press a kiss against her cheek, her forehead everywhere I can reach. I can’t stop touching her. I think I might die if I don’t touch her. She giggles under my touch. One hand rubs slow, deliberate circles between my shoulder blades.

The other brushes through my hair. God, she’s perfect. I’ve wanted to do this for so fucking long. I was mesmerized the moment I met her, but I kept my distance even though it was killing me. But now? Now she kissed me. I don’t think I can back off. I can’t be her friend anymore, and I hope…I hope she wants to be more than my friend too. I have absolutely no clue how. But I’ll figure it out. I’ll be the best person I can be for her.

I lean back, giving her some space. She grins, licking her lips. I narrow in on the sight, ignoring the urge to kiss her again. “Was that okay?” I ask hesitantly. I have never kissed someone. I have no experience in that department, but I want to be good at it for her. She cups my face, pushing back the hair on my forehead. Her thumb slides over my bottom lip. “Best kiss of my life,” she breathes, as out of breath as I am. Satisfaction fills my body. I don’t want to think about the fact that she probably has kissed other men.

Fuck them. I am clearly the better kisser.

“I have never done that before,” I confess, still breathing heavily.

“Haven’t what?” she asks, confused, with a raised brow.

I lean back in her hold. “Kissed someone.”

Her body stills, pulling away from me to look me in the eye, probably thinking I’m lying, but I’m telling the truth. Her mouth drops open.

She thinks I’m lying. Fuck. I must be a really good kisser then.

“Really?”

I give her a quick nod. “Yes, you’re the first person I have ever kissed.”

And hopefully the last one. Her mouth opens and closes.

“You?”

I chuckle at her shocked expression. She’s really good for my ego. “Yes, me.” She looks me up and down, her hand still cradling my cheek.

“But you’re gorgeous.”

She thinks I’m gorgeous? People have called me handsome and hot before, but gorgeous? No, never. I love the way it rolls off Alexis’s tongue. Fuck. She’s the only one who can call me that from now on.

“You think I’m gorgeous?”

She raises her eyebrows again. “Fuck yeah,” she exclaims. “I thought that the moment I met you.” She glances down at my body. “You have an amazing body.” She meets my gaze, a cheeky grin on her face, then winks. “But I like your personality the best, how you care about the people you love. How you always care about me. That is the best part about you. I like everything, but your love for everyone won me over.”

Won her over? So this isn’t a one-sided thing then?

She leans in and presses a soft kiss against my lips. The kiss lasts maybe a second, but it lights my entire body on fire. Fuck I love kissing her.

I open my mouth to ask her if it’s just me who’s feeling like this, or if she feels the same, when one of the nurses walks in. She stops in the doorway, noticing our position. Alexis, her hands glide down my cheek, resting on the mattress again. I cough, stepping away from the bed, but keep my eyes on Alexis the whole time.

I can’t stop touching her. She’s a drug I’m addicted to. Ever since we kissed, I can’t bear it when she’s not near. She had been cleared an hour ago. She had no lasting damage to her lungs. They think she passed out due to a sudden drop in her blood pressure.

My hand was on her back when I walked her to my car. I kept holding her hand the whole drive to her home, keeping my eyes on her as much as I could. I would stare at her the whole time, but I didn’t want to crash the car.

I’m fucked utterly and truly fucked. I have no clue how I’m supposed to act. Is it okay if I’m so clingy, or would she rather that I didn’t touch her this much? I don’t know what to do. I’m even debating calling Killian and asking him for advice, which would be weird. But I do remember him saying that he likes it when his partner is clingy, but he said that while he was dating my brother, so now I know I’m not the only clingy one in the family.

Great.

Killian had visited Alexis when she was still unconscious. He was worried about her but also about me. He saw my reaction last night. He saw how freaked out I was. I remember the conversation I had with him not that long ago, where I tried to convince him that Alexis was just a friend. But I think we both knew I was lying. And my actions when I found Alexis lying there on the ground proved that.

I don’t want to think about last night. When I heard our street name on the call, I felt relief and sadness at the same time, relieved that it wasn’t my house or Alexis’s, which meant that she was safe. But sadness because I knew who was living there and I knew two small children were in that house.
