I grab my phone from the bed and see three missed calls from Dom since I spoke to him earlier, so I call him back.
“Hey, sis,” he says cheerily.
Which is very unlike him.
“Dom… Are you good?”
“Yeah. So, you’re back tomorrow, right?” he asks.
I flop down on the bed. “Yes. Why?”
“Levi wants to meet us. I went out to get some groceries, and the motherfucker followed me there and squared up to me in the parking lot.”
I rub my hands over my face. Why the hell are the Twisted Serpents after us now? I can’t see there being a pressing issue with the drug lines they run that would make their president demand my attention. “What does he want?”
“Our father told him we would work with him to get them the route between LA, Arizona, and Vegas for their MC.”
Fuck. I told them months ago to lay off Vegas. Everyone knows not to go near the Volkov’s territory, and Arizona? There is no way in hell the Sterlings will let them in. All it will do is make me look like a dick if I even suggest it.
“I don’t want that slimy bastard anywhere near us. Dad should have never started working with a motorcycle club.”
“There is no way Mikhail Volkov is going to let some bikers take over his routes into Vegas,” Dom tells me.
“Yeah, I know. Mikhail doesn’t work with anyone outside of Enzo’s organization. He kills anyone who even tries. Shit.”
Why the fuck would my father tell Levi that? It’s like he wants me to fail, or end up dead… It means my father is putting pressure on me. This is his way of showing me that I am failing him and the biker gang needs to step up to make up for my shortcomings. I need them to get off my back. And I need them to stop going after the Sterlings.
“Right, let me think about it. We need to find a way to spin it to make them think they’re walking away with a deal that means absolutely nothing.”
Dom doesn’t reply right away.
“What if you speak to Colten? I bet they’d be open to moving more product? We could try to get them in LA and Arizona? That might shut our father up?”
“Colten isn’t going to agree,” I say, way too fast.
There is no way Colten will agree to letting a random MC club in on his drug runs. The Sterlings don’t need more product or money. And they trust no one.
“So, the issue is, G… They’ve already moved into Arizona. It’s only a matter of time before Hunter finds out. And we both know Levi is going to open his disgusting mouth and put us in the shit.”
I nod, even though he can’t see me.
“We need to speak to Dad. Let’s meet with Levi tomorrow, get him off our backs, and put that motherfucker in his place. Okay? I’m not having some slimy biker gang thinking they’ve got one over on us. They don’t make moves until we tell them.”
“I like that plan,” Dom says.
Dom likes any plan that involves violence.
“Get a few of our guards to meet us there.”
“On it, G. Also, there is something else, and I’m not sure whether to tell you now or wait.”
I roll my eyes. “Just tell me.”
“So, Colten ordered everything of yours to be moved out of our house, and now all your stuff is at his.”
I almost drop the phone, my mouth hanging open. “What? When?”
“This morning.”
