The Greeks have made plays for power constantly over the years. But now? They’re fucked. Figuratively and literally. All because they tried to play a game with cowboys in Arizona and got it wrong.

Nikos and Stefanos Kourakos tried to schmooze their way into the Sterling family’s graces. When that didn’t work, they helped plot a coup with one of the Sterling brothers.

After that plan failed spectacularly, they turned my own brother against our family, which also went poorly. They manipulated Fabio to take out my other brother, Max—who I loved more than life itself.

Max was nearly a couple of years older than me. He was the one who taught me how to throw a punch, but he’d also sneak into my room and read stories with me once Father was asleep.

The Greeks learned how powerful my wrath is and ran back to Greece with their tail between their legs. But it’s not enough. The vengeance still burns through my veins, and it will until I have my hands around Nikos’s throat and witness the blood drain from his body. And that’s after he’s witnessed me murder Stefanos first, so he can feel my pain for a minute before he joins him.

The phone rings, knocking me back to the present. I hit talk, putting it on speaker. “Yes, Robert.”

“Three million. Deal.”

I wink at Dom. “Good boy, Rob. Get the paperwork arranged for me before I leave for Arizona.”

“Sure.” He coughs. “Right on it, Gianna.”

I cut the call and pull out another cigarette because this moment deserves one. “See? I win.”

Dom nods, but has that blank expression on his handsome face that worries me.

“Spit it out, Dom.”

He swallows. “Have you spoken to Dad yet?”

I suck in a breath. “No, I’m having dinner with him tonight. Why?”

I understand why Dom is worried. All of Vito’s children have endured the same childhood. Except I was the only girl. I wanted to be treated like one of the boys; I wanted my father to look at me the same way he did his sons.

That’s on me.

“It will be fine, slap on the wrist. Then, we’re getting shipped away to Arizona to learn how to ride a pony.”

I refuse to go anywhere without Dom by my side. And if I’m entering a hostile ranch, I need him next to me.

He chuckles. “You know you can’t wear killer red heels on a horse, right?”

“Why not?”

His smile falters. “It’s going to be harder to keep you alive on a ranch than it is in a war zone.”

I grin. This is why I love my brother. We might not share the same mother; my father and Fabio might not have accepted him.

But I always have, so did Max. He’s got my back, and I’ve got his. And that’s sometimes all you need in life, one person who always shows up for you.

Someone who understands you without even saying a word. And I doubt I’ll ever find anyone else in this lifetime who I will trust enough to stand beside me.

“My husband may try to murder me in my sleep; how do you suggest I deal with that?”

His eyes form slits.

But something in my chest shifts. Colten is handsome. That dark hair, stubble and brown eyes that burn into your skull. Not to mention the fact he’s ripped to shreds and covered in ink. The thought of sharing a bed with him? That makes me sweat. I’ve never slept next to a man, and I think I’m horny enough to climb him like a tree and see what happens. He’s either going to try to kill me, or he might give me the night of my dreams.

“If he lays a hand on you, G, I will slit his throat and feed him to the pigs.”

I nod. “No, Dom. I’ll kill him, then we can both watch the pigs feast.”

Although I’m not sure they have pigs. From what I researched online, they’re a cattle ranch and have a shit ton of horses.
